I was asleep on the sofa, my husband was on the computer, he said my name and I half woke up, and suddenly the window (which was locked) flew violently open, he was screaming and trying to close the window, he said I was screaming too but all I remember is being paralysed with fear watching the curtains billowing. Can someone please explain what happened?

I was not dreaming, my husband and I talked about what happened and we were both scared by it. And I am not on drugs.

Actually I am scared that 'something' came into the house last night and I am wondering what the hell to do as I am going to be alone here all weekend.

First off don't freak! There is good and bad in this world seen and unseen. I have had some pretty weird experiances in my life. Do those things that you feel will help bring peace back to your home. Open the windows and let it air out, burn candles or incense, play music or pray. Above all don't let the fear you felt take hold.
About what happened... natural or super natural I'm not sure I wasn't there. Listen to your gut. If you feel something came in to your home tell it to leave. Use what ever means your background gives you.

That nor'eastern was terribly powerful. I thought I was in a hurricane (and yes I've been in the middle of many hurricanes). I could defiitely see it blowing a window open. And I know I'd have been screaming too--thinking someone was breaking in.

Nature is a powerful thing.

Don't worry about whatever came into the house. A lil bit of Febreeze with allergen reduction and some good old fashioned spring cleaning will shine it right up by this w/e.

I know you have said that the window was locked but maybe it wasnt properly locked.

If there is something in the house - you can arrange for your house to be blessed. Also nothing can harm you.

Its scary being in on your own - I hate being in on my own at night, can you get friend or relative to come and stay this weekend so that you arent on your own

I believe you.
Are you Christian? If you are, know that we are very often targeted by what I can only call "dark forces". Not to worry, these buggers don't really have much power over Christians, but they can be a pain. Just be assured that you are the property of Jesus Christ, sealed with His Holy Spirit.
I would have been frightened out of my wits, too...but then, I would just lock the window, remind myself that I belong to Christ and am under Hiw protection (remind any loitering spirits, as well) and gone about my business.

OH...my aunt, a very devoted Christian who had a tremendous sense of humor, would often brandish her broom, crying "In Jesus name, out of my house", sweeping the demons out the door. It made us kids giggle, but you know, we all felt safer when she was through with this routine. I think she enjoyed it, but I truly think she and my uncle felt safer, as well. So, at the risk of maybe looking silly to your neighbors (which has never been a major concern of mine, anyhow), why not indulge yourself a bit? You and God may have a few giggles together, why not? And maybe, like us kids when we were little, you might feel a bit safer.

some human beings, me lined, each and every so often have their bodies nod off on a similar time as they're wide awake. once you're in wide-spread sleep your muscle groups exchange into paralyzed so which you do no longer act out your targets. If this happens on a similar time as wide awake you will no longer be able to pass and at situations will no longer be able to respire. you additionally could have had a waking dream.

How are you so sure that the windows were locked. Was it stormy when this took place. If so then it could of been the wind. if not then you likely had paranormal activity and should consider getting an exocist. If your Christian you should definitely discuss it with you pastor.

Isn't it curious that people state they don't believe in God or satan or demons,,,,,,,,,and the first thing they say is to prove it to them or give them evidence. So, you post what you posted,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,notice how many of them forgot that you said the window was LOCKED. Well, here is proof of something supernatural and as for the answers you have received so far, I think they would commit you to a mental institution if they could. They don't believe.

The window flying open suddenly like that was obviously caused by some presence in your home- it's called the WIND. Get a grip, for Christ sake

maybe you had a sleep paralysis if you had problem in breathing or something that sort ???
or maybe you were just scared because you were half awake and your mind was not prepared for anything of that sort.
and about the window, it was just wind, lady, just wind.
