I was in Vegas recently and kept getting confronted by families on the strip wearing T-Shirts with things like "Jesus or Burn" or "Gambling = Hell" or "Repent or Perish" on them. When I spoke to them they said they were Mormons from SLC and that they were trying to get people to stop gambling.
1. Bit too late when people are already in Vegas!
2. They have loads of wives don't they and have orgies and stuff don't they? Isn't that against the 10 Rules?
3. What about all those guns they had in Waco - you aren't telling me that was for target practice, come on guys!
Then you've got all the muslims blowing up our troopsin Irag and Afganistan, they are all religious people, yet they murder both innocent soliders and themselves - I thought suicide was a sin?
Really it's just all aload of rubbish to make us 'tow' the line and to try and subdue us isn't it?

To Betteria - I am not lying, they weren't being particularly aggressive, but their T-Shirts were obviously for effect (to be fair they worked, I stopped didn't I???). And just because they are not NORMALLY like that doesn't mean some won't be, afterall that's like me saying "Hitler wouldn't have done in all those jews, because Catholics are normally like that"

I think you're lying. Mormons don't generally take the fire and brimstone approach, simply because hell to them is "outer darkness". Anyway, Las Vegas has a huge LDS population...
Then it wasn't Mormons. They simply do not use phrases like that. They don't.

That's odd, for Mormons... but ya just never know about people. Usually it's the Holy Rollin Pentacostal's that use catch phrases like that and protest at places like that. But, Mormons don't practice polygamy anymore. They did away with that several decades ago (maybe longer) and no, they don't practice ritual orgies either. *Polygamy is NOT against the 10 Commandments... Adultery is. Polygamy is NOT Adultery, because everyone in it IS married to each other* Otherwise Solomon and King David wouldn't have been "Heroes" of the Bible, since both had more than one wife. Come to think of it, damn near everyone in the Old Test had more than one woman. lol
I understand your frustration... it's annoying that people do stuff like that and expect to be treated with respect. Empty threats (and they are indeed empty) such as that doesn't deserve respect. But, they're allowed to do those things and we have to tolerate it... though normally I would avoid such poeple. If they're ballsy enough to do that... it's hard telling what they have the balls to do.

This world we live in today is not the one of my childhood. But in a way, many things haven't changed that much. I was a child during WW2 and my mother had a book, (huge volume) complete with the most unimaginable pictures and accounts of atrocities commited by the countries we were at war with during WW1, (before my time,). I won't go into description, but mostly the only difference in the carnage and unbelievable horrific acts commited on persons, civilians etc, is the difference in technology. Unfortunately technology has made it possible to encompass so many more at a time.
It is important if you are a person of faith to hold fast to that faith and live your personal life as you know is right. It does spread!
About Las Vegas, I lived there 15 years. This is a city of a culture unlike any in the world. I often thought about the Stephen King book THE STAND, no wonder the evil congregated there! However there are GOOD people there too. The mormon community is large there so what you say is true, that is what they do. Most of them are enlightened and have a good faith and try to live as they should and share their faith.
Horrible things have happened since the beginning of time in the name of God, or Gods and religion. We must remember not to blame the religion, and NOT GOD, blame the people who have for their own agenda twisted what is good and right into whatever they want to gain power and control.
I will continue to nurture my faith and try to live as Jesus taught, So will many more and we will spread good and compassion. Do not be bitter, remember God does love us!
Continue to pray, give thanks for the blessings the Lord has provided, do good to your fellow man. Take time to notice the beauty in this world and add to it by your actions and life.
God be with you.

I have been to Vegas several times but never seen what you did. One on occasion I was politely approached by a nun in an old-fashioned habit and asked to donate for hungry children or something or another, I am not sure exactly because I was awfully drunk. I felt so guilty I gave her a couple of bucks.

For me, there is a distinct difference between "religion" and "spirituality". Those who have a sense of spirituality and faith are the ones that don't push their beliefs on others. They live their lives being the best they can be, and by doing that, they mentor and foster a behavior around them without having to be preachy. Those who subscribe to religions need to be led, need to have structure, need to be told what to think and feel, as they may not trust their own intuitions. Have empathy for those who can only follow, but trust in those who live exemplary lives without a religious label attached to them.

Mormons are not Christians----they are a cult. They pervert the Bible and the name Jesus. Pay them no attention. To tow the biblical line or not too is a personal choice, just like everything else you do. No one is responsible for your actions except you.

i don't be attentive to yet i'm answering because of the fact i don't get your apostrophe element the two, you be attentive to, once you write Obama....(O'bama). I propose, i'm getting the sensible 0bama, and the witty Nobama that are very nicely-known among conservative askers of questions that they don't likely choose to be attentive to the solutions to...yet, i think of even they could admit, they're getting slightly drained and unoriginal. i desire you will excuse me for putting a query right into an answer, yet once you have arise with a sparkling sensible derogatory call for the President, you're able to be able to desire to develop into like nicely familiar....nicely, Yahoo! answer nicely familiar besides. (I word you go with to apply multiple words with apostrophes so in step with probability it is not a sensible call in any respect...yet while that's....i'm only sayin'!)
