my mom does this all the time like if she sees a hickey on my neck her reaction is like "OH MY GOD what did you do to my daughter did you touch her where you shouldn't until marraige you did didn't you WELL YALL CAN'T SEE EACH OTHER BUT TWICE A WEEK NOW MATT GO HOME DON'T COME BACK TILL FRIDAY! or when she hears me talkin about marraige and not wanting a big wedding she freaks out

Well I'm sure your age plays a part as well...how old are you?
But no matter what your age, she's just concerned for you...she doesnt want you to end up pregnant and all alone, or with some awful STD like HIV, HPV, etc...which can affect you for the rest of your life.
parents understand the consequences a bit better then their kids bc they've gone through this themselves. She just loves you...
Also, if you have a hickey...you shouldnt display it like a new pair of earrings. That should remain a personal/private thing. You should at least hide it from your family...its kind of gross to see that on your siblings' neck...

Because she loves and cares for you. I know that making out is fun (used to do it a lot myself). I also know from those experiences that it does not usually end with hickies, but also with some petting, and maybe other things. Those things could eventually lead to pregnancy which will have the potential to set you back years, unless you are prepared for it. Given the implication of your age in your question, I would say that you are not prepared for it.
Listen to your mama, she just wants you to become all that you can be!

She is your mother. She is feeling protective of you. After all, she did give birth to you and you are still her baby. Put yourself in HER shoes and really give it some thought. Would you want your daughter to have a hicky on her neck? I'm sure she only wants the best for you with hopes that you will make wise decisions and good choices in your life.

Really, you're 18? Well, if you don't like the way your mom reacts to you, you're an adult now. Move out. But if you're living with her, in her home, eating the food she pays for and sleeping under the roof she pays for, then regardless of how old you are, you have to abide by some rules that she sets up. It's her house. You don't like the rules, get your own house to live in.

She's your mom and it's her job to look out for you and make sure you don't get hurt. Get used to it. Even when you're 65 years old and have grandkids of your own, she will still be your mother and will still make sure that you're eating your broccoli.
Nobody in this world will ever look after you with the same sort of devotion that you mother looked after you with. Enjoy it. She might not be around when you're 65.

Because she's a parent and that's what parents do. They want to protect their children and they want whats best for. Don't think it'll be over when you are an adult either. I'm 24 and my mom still tries to tell me what she thinks I should do with and for my life. LOL! That's just how moms are.

that is a little demeaning...
i don't think it's proper and it certainly doesn't look nice...

i remember when i used to work in a nursing home, and a couple of the girls would always show up to work with sucker bites. everyone made fun of them behind their backs... and thought of them as sluts.

I am 43 years old and have never had a hickey. I have more pride in myself than to have something like that on me.
You look like a cheap sleaze when you walk around with hickeys. Strangers see them and think, "There's a s.lut"... THAT is why your mom loses it. She doesn't want people thinking her daughter is a s.lut.
