The only reason why people put weight on once they quit smoking is because you get your appetite back and eating becomes a substitute for smoking.
So instead of eating when you want a cigarette, why not do some exercises, like go for a run or do some sit-ups.
If you really want to eat then eat fruit or yogurts, nothing too fatty. Or if you are at work and you cant exercise then buy one of those stress balls so that it keeps your hands busy when you want a cigarette.
Good luck xxx

You probably will. It is worth it though. Try to stay away from anything with sugar in it. Chew sugarless gum, drink diet drinks and the very hardest most difficult thing of all, refrain from chocolate as much as possible.

If you pick up a few pounds, after you are used to being off the nicotine in a couple or three months you can worry about dieting to lose weight. Don't fight smoking and your weight simultaneously.

You can gain some weight just due to not having the nicotein to keep you up and going. Get out of the house and exercise by taking a walk or walking the dog, playing with some kids or taking up a hobby just don't sit around. Chewing seet gum that's sugar free can help curb cravings.

You usually only put weight on because you snack instead of smoking, so find something else to do with your hands or realise what you're doing and have fruit instead.

Smoking is an appetite suppressant, so now that you're not smoking you might find yourself being more hungry - eat filling meals like pasta or rice.

Well done and keep going!

we are told by doctors that we shouldn't put weight on, but often we do because we need something to do with our hands and mouth and the obvious thing to do is eat, if you believe you can do it and not put weight on you wont,, maybe you cud try a little exercise and that will help you , when i stopped smoking ( for the 3rd time) i felt ready and positive and became a lot more fitter and healthier, it was the best thing i did just stay strong and never get dis-heartened, if you succumb to a cig never mind and keep trying,, you can do it.
Good luck

Congrats! Way to go!! Don't worry about weight gain. If you substitute candy for the nicotine fix, just buy the sugar free kind. The main thing is to continue the program. Good Luck

GREAT JOB KEEP IT UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
as a smoker you have a hand to mouth habit
when you quit this turns to food to mouth
Couple suggestions

eat alot of fruit/good food
stay the hell away from junk food
go out for a walk on a regular basis
do some excersise-yoga -sex whatever-stay busy
may gain 5 lbs but you can work this off

I didn't put any weight on when I gave up, in fact I lost weight. I found that with fresh lungs I felt more compelled to do exercise. Join a gym, it will be cheaper than smoking ever was.

first congrats on 2 days...i cant go 2 hours. typically y people gain weight when quitting is beause of the oral fixiation that comes with smoking.. in stead of smoking u will eat something... try sucking on a DumDum when u want a cigarette...or chewing a piece of gum. just dont eat everything not tied down when u wanna distract yourself from smoking.....and goodluck
