I'll be flying out of town on Sunday, and I was wondering if it was safe to put my ipod through the xray security at the airport, or if I should put it in the little bin? My first time in flying with it...thank you!!

Your iPod is completely safe being run through the airport x-ray machine.

If you have it packed inside your carry-on you do not even need to remove it (unless asked by TSA officer). The onlything you would normally need to remove would be a laptop computer which in most cases must be screened by itself in a bin.

If you are wearing your iPod on your person (ie belt clip or in your pocket) then the easiest thing would be to toss it in whatever bag you may be carrying. You can of course place it in a bin and send it through on its own but putting it inside your bag helps speed up the process as you go through the line.

Safe travels!

If it is in a bag, then leave it in the bag. If it is clipped to your person, then take it off and put it in the bin. The machines will not hurt it. I have sent mine through over a 1000 times and it still works as good as it ever did.

No problem. In fact, it is a requirement to send it through the xray before boarding the plane (US, of course)
