Oh, you poor thing, that would be embarassing. But just be thankful you aren't a big person, because then it would be very humiliating!! I'm sure the seat was on the verge of breaking anyway. If it happened in my house, I wouldn't expect anyone to pay for it at all, things happen, and honestly, buying a new toilet seat isn't a big deal. I also wouldn't expect it to ever be mentioned again. I would feel terrible if I knew one of my guests was worrying over something like that, and I'm sure your friends would feel the same way. They would not want you to feel that way I'm sure, and would not expect you to pay for it or send a gift or even mention it again. Don't worry about it:-)

It depends how close your friendship is. Maybe just a note or an e-card will do with a sorry once again... or if you're close, take a little gift along next time you visit.
Things like toilet seats break, you were just the unlucky one that it happened to. You're friends won't expect a gift or a note, but it will make you feel better.

It was probably starting to break before you even sat on it. If they say you don't have to pay for it I would let it go at that unless next time you go over you want to take a small gift. Something cute for the bathroom, maybe like some cute soaps or a candle. I don't think it is really necessary, though. I feel your pain. I broke one at work one time but we all knew it was just a matter of time before it broke.

That would be very embarrassing! Not only for you but also for them. I would have about died as a host if someone were in my home and something busted while they were using it! Seats break, especially the wooden ones. I have had that happen to me (on my own thank goodness) several times.

Oh how embarrassing. This wasn't your fault at all though. You can send flowers apologizing, though your friends are probably more embarrassed than you are.
I am sorry this happened to you.

No worries, if it broke with someone as light as you then it would have broken anyways. Also, since you already apologized and they accepted the apology its all good,

If it was truly an accident, it could have happened to anyone (it was just a matter of time). You did the right thing in offering and they declined. I would leave it at that.
