This is a great question meatbot! The Bible teaches us that this happens to be God's plan for the salvation of mankind. Man sinned, God can not co-exist with evil, God loves and desires man to be with him - what to do?? I'll become a man and I'll suffer the consequences of man's rebellion against me. Then all who accept what I have done for them and who believe in the sacrifice my Son has made for them will be accepted by me, for I will look upon all men who come into my presence as though they were my Son Jesus Christ. I choose this plan because no matter how good they are on earth they are still sinners and I cannot co-exist with them. They must have faith in my Son.

It's not important to God, but it's important to you because you can't live here in this life without faith. And sure by the faith you can be a good person. But if you have a good person i can't get faith .

umm... what is going to help you reside longer right here and not someplace you do not likely be attentive to would be there? Being a sturdy individual will improve the regularly occurring of lifestyles for the two the Christian and otherwise non-Christian. Having faith in a god could be yet another tale. Having faith that pronounced god will forgive you- no count what you do- could be not so sturdy for people who do like their "Earthly Lives" if the concept is taken incorrect... not sturdy while that individual believes that killing for pronounced god is a right now cost ticket to the desireable afterlife with promise of robust issues vs. undesirable terrible irritating issues the place everybody is violently tortured and burned for all eternity... sounds like a scare tactic to me. i think of- sometimes... dare I say MANY situations, having faith in a god could be a bad element.

Guess some of you should read the bible, it is by faith not works that you are saved.

For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, 9 not of works, lest anyone should boast. 10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them Ephesians 2:9-10

6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. John 14:6

When the bible refers to Charity, it is talking about love, not the gift of charity.

And now abide faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity. 1 Corinthians 13:13 This is the in reference to the Love Chapter in the bible. In older versions of the bible is says "Charity", in newer word for word translations is says "Love". Love never fails... If you do things out of duty instead of love, it means nothing.

That's according to the bible.

Ooo - bad question. The two things are not divisible.

Having faith means you are being "good" in a context - doing good things out of love rather than out of pity or a sense of social obligation. Faith provides the "why" for being good.

People don't go to heaven because they are good.
Jesus ask us to have faith in Him and believe in Him.
By accepting him as your savior, the Holy Spirit enters your heart and changes your desires, which makes you want to live for him.
Your sin comes only from your desires and Jesus is the Only One who can change this
