I suspect they will teach us a thing or 2 about marriage if we let them.

Buddhism only declares that you shouldn't use your sexuality to cause harm and suffering. I'm all for monogamy myself but I don't judge others and foist off my views of ethics.
To the commentary about what went on in airport bathrooms: it's no different than the hetero airline personnel (pilots and attendants) who couple ON the planes AND in the bathrooms where both heteros will pick a bathroom and sneak the opposite sex in. Don't even PRETEND that LGBTs are the only ones. Also I think if you're going to waste taxpayer money for stings against lesbians and gays in the airport bathrooms, then the same humiliation should be applied to those SAME heteros. Stop the madness.

It seems like they are a cross section of people just like heterosexuals. Some people seem like monogamy is a must in a relationship, while for others it is not a requirement. I will say that at least homosexuals seem more open about the subject and they probably are speaking about it more with their partners.
As for the morality issue, I do not think sexuality and morals go together. What consenting adults do with each other is not really open to moral judgments. Morality is a private issue and open to many interpretations. What one person find moral another may find immoral. As long as they are being open about it and no one is being lied to, who am I to judge?
Religions in the past have used sexual morality as a way to keep families together. I do not believe they have the right to judge others if they are happy. I don't think God is judging them for being homosexuals. He judging people based on their negative actions towards others, not the way they love one another.

basically is going to coach we've been top all alongside. there isn't any distinction in the dedication between couples of the comparable intercourse. i will basically image the headlines now of one of the greater conservative information papers, "straight away married couples greater committed than gay couples" and use the comparable information to tell a various tale. The non secular top spin medical doctors are going to have a real tizzy over this one. Oh properly individuals. And as Walter Cronkite might say "and that's how that's"

My best friend is bisexual, too. Her mother told me once, "I still love my daughter. Your child does not become some space alien freak when she comes out."
Too bad some people here don't understand that.
I want to respond to a couple things: Straight couples join "the mile-high club" in public bathrooms. I once saw a man and a woman who didn't know each other get to know each other on an Amtrak train, then take off for her sleeper berth.
Also, those of you who knew randy gay men a few years ago...weren't you also randy straight people? Youth is probably more to be associated with not wanting to be tied down and sowing your oats than gayness, biness, or straightness.

Lol, well done!
Sorry, I hardly can even answer to this. To me it's almost funny (if it weren't so sad) that some people actually need to be convinced of the fact that other people are also just that: people.
Maybe we should face the deeper problem in all this. It's about how modern a society is. Modern societies like Norway, South-Africa, Canada, Holland, Sweden, etc, etc all understand that basic human rights are right of ALL human beings. Two consenting adults getting married is a basic human right.
It's just sad that less modern societies like Burundi, Syria, USA and Iran don't get that. They will catch up soon enough I hope.

Many gays choose monogamy, but have to find their own reasons for doing so, rather than having this condition dictated by a Pope or politician.
Consequently, gays are forced to actually think, which is more than a lot of straight people ever do, regarding this issue.
But gays are no different than straights, and the same difficulties arise. The difference is, when a straight couple has problems, they have an entire social infrastructure and legal system to turn to for support, churches, families, courts, work & clubs.
Gays have to work harder to find support for their commitment to monogamy. This is why your answers from gays were in a different light.

I have no arguments with gays and lesbians. I've met many and as long as they keep it in the bedroom, I have no problem with them coming out of the closet.
I just don't believe that the gay/lesbian agenda should be forced on those who don't condone homosexual behaviour, especially churches. If a church or sect says "We do not accept into membership anyone who is actively participating in homosexual relationships".

I am a gay college student. (in the closet for what it's worth) Most of my buddies are straight. Many have "girlfriends". Most of these guys "play the field" regardless.
I'm not criticizing, just stating what "reality" I see.
I think people are simply human. Race, religion, sexual orientation "may not" necessarily influence one's desire or need for a safe, comfortable, loving monogamous relationship.
I think "maturity" is the key factor.

manogamy with partner(s) is to me important it doesn't matter if the person is bi and has a man and a woman as long as everyone is faithful to each other. I think it is from a practical point of view safer that way there is so much out there that no one wants to get. almost every system of belif talks about manogamy.

To be fair, they seem a little *more* monogamous than the general public.
Again, great morality from these people. I'm not really surprised but I wonder if others will be. Good idea to post it here!
