The Scripture says in II Peter 1:20-21, "You must understand that no prophecy of Scripture came about by the prophet's own interpretation. For prophecy never had its origin in the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit."
II Timothy 3:16-17, "All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work." The Holy Bible affects human beings so profoundly because "all" the Bible is "God-breathed." It's more than a nice collection of moral principles; it's more than a great book; it's an inspired document, God's book. The prophets related what they saw and heard in human language, but their message came directly from God

In the Bible, it says that we are given free will and God would not stand in the way of that. If the Bible tells the truth, how can we be sure the messages are not straight from these people, not God?

If I gave you a letter and said it was from the President of the United States, how would you know if it was from him or not? Most likely it would be typed, and would you really know if his signature was forged?

Now what if I gave you a letter from the President which said somewhere in it, "And on Nov. 3rd I'm going to give have a news conference and will open it by saying 'Hello people of America and especially you (your name)?" And then on Nov. 3rd, it happend? Then would that be some pretty good proof that this letter was from the President?

The same kind of things applies to the Bible. You look for clues to answer the question, "Did God inspire this?" That's why prophesy is the highest proof of something as Scripture: if the prophet knew something that only God could have told him, then God must have told him.

Mostly because the Bible was written over a 2000 year period by 40 different authors ,most who did not know each other, yet they all agee on the nature and plan of God.That's impossible any other way than to be "God breathed."

it is also a matter of believeing. i think along time ago people were much closer to God, ya know, so it was probably easier to believe. Now the world in which we live in has been corrupted by things other than "Godly". And we are talking about thousands or so and so years of this stuff....

It is to keep us on alert to people or religions that set end time dates... you know in our history that some groups has set dates that the world would end and we are still here. you will know a false prophet if they have prophesied and the prophecy failed. keep on the watch.
