Those people who do are thinking like terrorists are.
Many people who are not familiar with the Quran or did not make a good effort to study it are confused about the issue of befriending people from other religions. Many of them make grave judgment on this matter.
Quran is a complete book that occasionally presents a law or commandment over several chapters or several verses in the same chapter and the practical part of this commandment can be achieved by understanding the whole issue as presented over all the verses and chapters and not by upholding only part of the Quran. God specifically warn us against doing just that, upholding part of the Quran while disregarding the rest.
[2:85] ?. Do you believe in part of the scripture and disbelieve in part? What should be the retribution for those among you who do this?..
To understand the issue of befriending the Jews and Christians , we have to study all the concerned verses together in light of the whole Quran.

Please read the rest here:

The last paragraph:
This verse should not be used by any mean to negate the fact that among the Jews (and Christians) will be righteous people who can be good friends as explained in the above verses, they do not fight us in our religion or our homes. They can be our neighbors, colleagues, friends, co-workers...etc We will be good to them as they are good to us. We, all the righteous people of all religions ,can make the difference and make this world better by respecting each other, respecting the freedom of choice of each other, and remember that we all have the One and the same God.
May God bless you

For the second person, please give your sources that state that not ONE American cared about the Quran..
You know what the funny thing is that many Americans converted to Islam after 9/11.

Just like someone can take verses from the Koran to say that Islam is not a religion of peace, likewise someone can take verses from the Bible to prove the exact same thing about Christianity. Both are out of context. The majority of Muslims are peaceful. The majority of Christians are peaceful as well.

The problem with taking spiritual text in context is that it is a matter of interpretation. Some will read a verse and place it in a completely different context than others. A terrorist may read a verse that beseeches followers to kill infidels and claim that it is the expressed law of Allah, where other Muslims will read it and state that it is a metaphor. Christianity and Judaism have the exact same problems. This is why there are Sunni and Shia, they have differing interpretations of holy text.
The truth is that if the text isn't clear, there will always be arguments, and differing interpretations and implied contexts. This leads to war, terrorism, death and family turmoil. The innate lack of clarity in spiritual text causes great harm to society, and is the main reason why rejecting religion is a necessity for peace.
Sisterze.. There are many Muslim charities that actually do help people in need. You have been lied to. Christianity has not always been about helping people and love. You are ignoring 400 years of Christian rule during the dark ages, and the recent ethnic cleansing done by Christians against Muslims in Bosnia.

Well, I'm tired of reading deviated information on my own sacred texts too (being written by your own fellow brethern), and efforts to misinterpret the original teachings of others by your own missionaries and others as well.
You talk so highly about the Quran as if others don't deserve their rights to share their truth alongside with your peaceful religion. What peaceful means have your people contributed to the world today? If indeed it is as what you had said people wouldn't have became so extremist and brainwashed to condone violent acts should they have learnt that killing of others is not only morally but spiritually WRONG too.
You might find this link by the unintelligent and misinformed Harun Yahya to be fascinating as people like him are the ones who contribute to more disasters to the world with his extremist views and deviated teachings plus other misinterpretation of other people's religious faiths.

People like him had generated wrong information and taught misinformed things to the less educated people on Buddhism. How would you feel when you read others re-write the whole history of Islam and your holy book?
Can't we all learn from one another and share a common place to live in??? For goodness sakes, grow up.

I especially like the part in your question where you state that in the Quran, God specifically warns us against upholdinh part of the Quran while disregarding the rest (which I was not aware of) because this is very common in Christian religions regarding the Bible. It seems that Christians pick and choose which parts of the Bible to follow according to what suits them and their opinions and convictions. I am extremely tired of people doing this but I don't see an end in sight,

Completely agree sister. I see many people quoting only one ayat from the Qur'an without any of the surrounding ayats to take everything into context. The same can be done with the Bible too.
And also, I live in New Jersey, within 20 minutes of New York and where the WTC used to be and I have converted to Islam only 3 months ago.

Actually, I'm just tired of people taking verses. They'd be more useful if they took history, science, and social science more seriously and took mythology and dogma less seriously. I have no problem with Jews, Christians and Muslims befiending one another. I do have a problem with Jews, Christians, and Muslims oppressing one another. If you really want world peace, stop believing in *one true god*, because every religion thinks it's theirs and none of them can prove it any better than the others.

no, i'm tired of people using verses to answer questions, period. come on, people, the thing i keep hearing from christians is that god make us all unique and gave us free will so that we're not all like a bunch of robots. but ask a question and you end up getting the same verse from about 9/10 christians. how about just answering what you really think?

ALL the religion take the Truth out of context and spin the Truth for their own intentions...
which are all lies and deceptions...
Here's how you can eliminate religion from YourLife:
Create a private, personal, direct, divine Relationship with Our Creator and save your Soul from religion.
Only with Our Creator's Love and Peace will we be Truly Free!
Love and Believe in Our Creator;
Love and Believe in Yourself.
"religion is Spiritual fraud"; "religion is the Worse invention of humanity" - Jesus Christ, Buddha and any one else with Spiritual intelligence.
Without God, there is No Love; Without religion, there are No Wars!
atheists = all the people in religion
