Saintrose: So...an evil God lies, while a good God kills innocents and tortures eternally? Hmmm. Doesn't that seem a little off to you?

hahahahaha...great question!!...you'll get no reasonable answer to this one. Period.
My laughter is as good as it going to get.
I don't see much good about the Christian God especially through their eyes, words and works.

Well, God punishes people with fire and wrath and all that malarky, and say's you can't do anything fun.
Jesus wants people to learn and lets them learn from mistakes, no nasty punishments and embraces freedom of choice, whereas daddy doesn't.
God seems to me like a ruthless dictator "It's my way or the firey highway!"
I'd rather have Saten sat in number 10 Downing Street, maybe evil, apparently, but honest :P Learn from that Tony!
The argument they are both two seperate Gods is a very old one, which sort of would make sense, if you believe in religion.

It is a very fair question. The difference is our God is Love and none of us are actually innocent.
Waiting for God to kick the living crap out of people who, by an impulse for compassion and hatred of violence, find out God hard to admire, goes against everything Christianity is supposed to stand for. The brother who wrote that has no love in his heart.

There is no difference!
the christian god is based on evil, hate, greed, killing, abuse of power, etc....
Here's some more FACTS about christians:
hell was created by christians - so shall they go there, to their hell!
christians have KILLED more people in the history of humanity than any other group.
christians have persecuted millions of "non-believers" just because they DIDN'T believe in "christianity!
christians are by far the most brain-washed - brain-dead believers in the world today!

An evil god wouldn't tell the truth. An evil god wouldn't fulfill His word. An evil god would go around worrying about every little demand of every small-minded person who expected him to act the way they wanted him to. An evil god would not promise things to those who trusted him.
I am glad that my God is not like that. He told us what He will do, and what He did, and evil people keep trying to cast doubt on Him.
Sometimes I can't wait for Him to kick the living crap out of them. But I do realize that those people who keep trying to cast doubt on Him are just going to screw themselves in the end.

An evil God wouldn't have flooded the Earth, wouldn't have killed the firstborn sons of Egypt, wouldn't have had the Isrealites kill the Amelekites, wouldn't have put a tree of knowledge in the Garden of Eden....

A evil God would lie to us. Our God gives it to us the way it is, and never changes the standard. However he does give us a chance for redemption.
