Jesus ate the Passover meal which was lamb.

Jesus was not a gourmet nor did he have that much choice over different meats except for sea food and lamb. Did Jews eat beef that much? And of course pigs was a no no. Other exotic game like venison or caviar would not have been available that easily or afford ably for a lower middle class orthodox Jewish carpenter in a Roman occupied country of the ?30 A.D. period.
More important that all that would be the fact that after rising from the dead he ate a piece of fish and some honey from a comb to disprove that his body was not spirit in the strict sense of the term. It had flesh, blood, bones and of course the healed wounds from the scourging/crucification.

Jesus belonged to the Essene sect, which promoted strict vegetarianism, baptism, a savior messiah, being born again literally through reincarnation, etc. Jesus would not have eaten any meat. The word translated into "meat" in the bible is a generic term for food. Contrary to some answers here, not all Jews at the time of Jesus slaughtered or ate animals; Essenes kept passover but did *not* eat meat.

he ate anything he could get his hands on.lets be honest,he was a carpenter who went on to become a beggar.he didn't work.hence he obviously lived on hand outs by going around telling stories.many people at that time did the same thing.it wasn't unique by any means.

It is not what you eat that makes you holy, but by every thought and word that is spoken
(I'm paraphrasing a little as I can't remember the exact quote of Jesus, but that was the basic idea).

Not specifically, but it is certainly implied.

How? The Gospels specifically mention Jesus keeping three Passover feasts in Jerusalem. However, in order to keep the feast, the participants were given roasted lamb, bitter herbs, and unleavened bread to eat (Exodus 12:3-4). The entire lamb had to be eaten during the feast. If there were any leftovers, they had to be burned (Exodus 12:10).

If Jesus did not eat the lamb, he would have been violating the Law and could have been accused of sin.

Make sense? It does to me.

Jesus was a Jew. He celebrated Passover. The instructions for the Passover meal are clearly outlined in Scripture. You are to secure a young lamb or goat, and are to eat its roasted flesh.
