has anyone done this? If anyone could give me any information on affordable train rates, that would be great!
Has anyone traveled from Ontario to BC by bus?

In Canada, train travel is more expensive than the bus by quite a bit ... but it's a wonderful trip, especially through the rockies.

You would want a sleeping berth for comfort, its a long trip. This website will give you costs involved and the route. You could take coach as well, which would be comparable to bus in comfort, except you can walk around more on a train.

Bus travel in Canada is better than bus travel in the U.S.
I won't ride the bus in the states if I can avoid it, but in Canada, I don't mind it.

bus would take forever, and the seats aren't terribly comfortable... I haven't traveled Viarail myself, but trains in other countries have always seemed more comfortable than long trips via Greyhound, for instance... and the rates are probably better.

Train's a great way to travel if you actually want to look at the countryside...
