If you were my son, I'd say, "HOLY CRAP, I HAVE A KID!?!?"
If you were my brother, I would steal your money when you weren't looking, just like when we were kids. Your sexual orientation would be irrelevant to me.

I'm a Christian, though slightly more liberal than most because I'm 23 and have a gay cousin (he's 40) and a gay Uncle (about 55).
If I was your sister, I would ask you had you been having those feelings for a long time or was it just a fad. (when we got to college one of my friends became a "lesbian" because she is extremely overweight and has a hard time finding interested men that want more than sex. when we got out partying, she'll try to flirt and hook up with guys if her girlfriend doesn't come with us which is decitful).
Anyhow, if you told me yes, then I'd tell you it didn't matter because you were my brother and I still loved you. Then I'd tell you to remember that not everyone is going to be understanding and I don't want to see you get hurt so to be careful who you tell.
Also, you may be pleasantly surprised that members of your family may already know or suspect something. My Aunt, Mom and brother knew my cousin was gay before he finally got the courage to come out of the closet. Because they knew it already, it wasn't a big deal.
My Grandmother and Dad knew my Uncle was gay as well. Unfortunately Grandma's way of handling it was to try and force my Uncle to "be tough" and take karate, baseball and stuff like that when he was a kid. Bleh. She's gotten over herself fortunately and they're a lot closer than when he was young.

Well I'd have a 22 year old gay brother. Big deal. I wouldn't hate you, disown, or send you to a christian camp. You'd just be my brother. I would wish you all the happiness in the world.

Take a deep breath and say "Well . . . . okay then. This will take a little getting used to."
But I wouldn't hate you, disown you, or try to 'cure' you.
But I will admit that I'd be thrown a loop and it would take some getting used to.
And I would still love you to pieces and protect you from harm (since at 22 you'd be my little brother)

My son is 22 but to my knowledge he isn't gay. But if he was not a single thing would change between us. He is my son. I loved him before he was born, I have loved him unconditionally for the past 22 years and will love him until the day I die...and in the here after. He is the only person I love in this world....enough to die for.
He is my son...that's all that matters....

If that picture is an accurate reflection of your physical condition, I'd ask you how you got in such great shape and beg you to please be my personal trainer. As for your orientation, I'd offer to go to gay rallies and support groups with you. Otherwise, the only advice I would have is just to practice safe sex, no matter what. Good luck, I hope you find happiness wherever you look for it.

I would do nothing, that is your lifestyle and you have the right to live the way you have elected, family love, from father, brother will continue the same, those who distance from a family member because of sexual preferences are ignorants..☺

I've always felt a little jealous of women who have gays sons, And what would i do? Never decorate without seeking his advise, take him shopping for his opinion on new outfits, keep my eye on him when I go to gay bars, introduce him to my nicest gay friends in the hope of paring them up so they spent lots of time with me. Borrow his twinkly stuff

Do? OK, if you were my son:
I'm SUCH an overprotective Mom to my dogs I'd probably be after you all the time to eat right, to wear a sweater when I'm cold (don't all parents do that?), to take protective measures when you have sex...and I'd probably threaten any man who you were dating with sudden death if he broke your heart.
If you were my brother, I'd probably deal with you the way I deal with all my siblings - each according to his or her merits.
Peace out.

Treat you the same as I would if you were not Gay. How you got treated would depend on how you are personally, how do you treat friends and family as well as strangers you meet.

YGL I'm just about old enough (were it that I had been precocious) to be your father. If I had sired you - I would take you to a gay bar and we could see about finding you another *Daddy*
