your right the bread does seem softer when cut diagonally. but I only tend to do it when I have guest around or if I have an agg sandwich!!! Just got used to cutting it horizontally I guess. Maybe I will have a diagonally cut one tomorrow for a change. Thank you for encouraging me to have a little variety in life!!

I kind of cut it funny. Like 1/2 way between horizontal and diagonal.

It totally depends on the type of sandwich. If I made a really big veggie sandwich that doesn't hold together so well, I'll cut it horizontally or vertically. If I make a PB&J sandwich, (which stays together fairly well), I cut it diagonally.

I cut mine diagonally too. Maybe it's because of the presentation, even if I'm the only one eating it! But it is easier to start eating on a corner of the triangle.

Diagonally. If making two sandwiches, I arrange them on a plate so that the pointed ends touch each other. Just makes it look pretty!

i cut horizontally but will try diagonally next time i make one:-)
sometimes i cut horizontally then vertically so i get 4 little squares, usually if i'm having a crisp sandwich as i find i drop less crisps when they are smaller!

I'm with you. Diagonally is the best and only way to eat sandwiches.
