I don't know how this is a language question.
However, Darwin would explain it that men with money represent security and the greater likelyhood of a child's survival. A woman can create much fewer children than a man and it is in her interest to have stability since it takes years for children to grow into adults. Men are naturally promiscuous to spread their genetic material as wide as possible. Preferably with a healthy looking female. Money would usually be of little consequence. It sounds sexist, but it's basic evolution.

Yes, from the point of human evolution, it was essential for females to rely on the powerful and strong males to raise her off spring safely. We cannot full Mother Nature.
Now Money=Power, they are now synonyms
(here comes the "language part)..:)

Cos in the ol' days the men bought home the 'bacon'...The women stayed at home, almost, doing as they pleased. (I say almost cos who really wants to do the dishes)

Getting a guy with money allows a woman to do that...and brag about how rich their man is...

Because they are straight gold diggers so he can get their hair and their nails done and buy them the finer things in life have a great day.

I don´t know. I was born rich so I don´t need a guy to pay my bills.....Joking.
Its not important to me. It s nice of course when guy buys you expensive things, but its also nice when he buys you a rose. where there is love money is not so important!!
