i have tried various sites on the internet but they all say different translations. i would also appreciate it if anyone with experience who knows the language could help me. thankyou,

In Arabic we write what we pronounce,there are no silent or doubled letters,so to have the right answer you have to tell the exact sound:
1-Megan,if the "g" is like in legal or eagle:مـيـكـا ن
if the "g" is like the french"r": مـيـغـا ن
2-Dean,if the "ea" is like the "ia" in diamond:د يـا ن
if it is like "dear" :د يـن
But if you are thinking about tattoo or a presentation..etc,then you must have them written in the beautiful Arabic calligraphy art, in which I can help

Hi there,

Generally, names in English are unlike names in Arabic, i mean, names in Arabic have meanings in the arabic dictionaries, like when you say: Sahar which is a girlish name that means staying awake at late night. But names in English are rather vocal and they are originally names that were mentioned in Bible.

So you cannot find translations for Dean and Megan in Arabic. But, the sounds of these names can be written using the Arabic letters.

well in arabic short vowels are not written... this is why you'd get different results : some will write all the letters, others just the ones that are strenghtened

and as those names don't exist in arabic, there is no standardized way of writing them

moreover the sound G doesn't really exist either... so it will be either transcripted by a J ( ﺠ‎ ) or by a a J with two added spots underneath

so i guess you could choose any one of those you found... the one that looks the most aesthetic to you

According to official rules of transliteration, names are transliterated into Arabic according to pronounciation, not spelling, that's why all of them got Megan wrong (I guess they aren't sure how to pronounce it).

ميكان and ميغان are pronounced with a lon A, "mekaan" or "meghaan" respectively. That's not how to pronounce Megan in Englih. In Megan, tha A is short. Very short.
Therefore
ميكن = Megan
In Gulf Arabic they would write it ميقن but I think the first one is more propper.

Dean = دين , and it means "religion" in Arabic.

To all Arabs who don't know how to pronounce Megan, I've posted a link. The stress is on the first syllable.

I have my name in Arabic on one side of my business card...but I work in Iraq. Try contacting a mosque in you area and ask the Imam. Actually....have Dean do the talking. Arab men value camels and sheep above women....I kid you not. Having lived in the Middle-East for 2 years I learned that women are considered nearly invisible.

Sorry... but why do you want your names in Arabic? Is it because you became muslim? If it is Alhamdulillah, may Allah guide you both.
Why don't you just choose a different name... i don't know megan, but dean sounds very much like din(which means religion in arabic)
There is many names you can choose.

Well..... actually english name are so different than arabic names . but if you only want your names prononced in arabic so
Megan ميغان
Dean دين
I think they should be so ..... but i sugest you to try to choose an arabic name .... arabic names r very wounderfull and have wounderfull meanings too.
