Your Mercedes wasn't enough, you brats," says Cho, a South Korean immigrant whose parents work at a dry cleaners in surburban Washington. "Your golden necklaces weren't enough, you snobs. Your trust funds wasn't enough. Your vodka and cognac wasn't enough. All your debaucheries weren't enough. Those weren't enough to fulfill your hedonistic needs. You had everything."
American children, rich brats, maybe we should blame the parents how about it? Seriously. Is anyone listening? There will be countless news stories to follow but not one examining Amercias spoiled youth and myspace whores that are self-vanity promoting wasteland. The youth today is more concerned with how much their cell phones cost and fancy cars. Just watch the moronic response from the rich brats on this one.

Murder doesn't justify his actions but I hope some people will learn from all this how to treat people better and learn the value of things that aren't material like people's feelings and cultures....

Cho WAS a rich brat. He was 23 years old, lived with his parents while not at school and continued to attend college long after he should have graduated and started supporting himself. He was a 23 year old dormitory resident at Virginia Tech, paid for by someone else.
He stalked women - to get what he wanted, and when he didn't get what he wanted, he became enraged and violent. That's what a brat is.
His manifesto was a manifesto against HIMSELF. I think if his psychology is examined in detail, we'll find that he was filled with self-loathing and inadequacies. He hated himself because he was a 23 year old kid who was given everything, and had nothing to contribute to the world around him (and he was a failure with women).

Cho wasn't exactly poor. His parents OWNED a dry cleaners, they didn't just work at one. Besides there is NO excuse for the massacre at VT. American society is always going to be full of spoiled, rich, bratty snobs! Regardless of how annoying they are, or how malicious they try to be, no one deserves to be gunned down like wild animals.

While i was just going to read this one and not respond.. something came over me.. ( probably my personal rage against what he did to those prescious people at VT) WE ALL KNOW lots of our kids are rich and spoil.... that is not the problem here... however the media is going to take very close looks at " wealthy" kids and give them several chances to speak out.. Why? Because by Cho singling them out has given the media the oppty they have been looking for to play another card besides race.. We have a seperation due to economic standing and this is another reason for some who are rich and wealthy to further turn there noses up at those who do not fall in their tax bracket. Look at that damn Show MTV Sweet Sixteen.. them kids spend 100,000 min. on a bday party. yes when some struggling student, parent, or just TV watcher see's that it may make them say DAMN, but it does not make the full of rage until the only solution is murder. it just may motivate them. May give them the addedd boost they need to continue so they can give there child the same treatment ( if possible) but will they media say that. HELL NO....... so know all rich kids stand up.. you have a right equal to blacks voting, women working.. Hell you probably get more media attention they gay right.....
hmmm poor america.... the media is so not our friend and it has nothing to do with freedom of speech. We ( america) are accepting entertainment that furthers place barriers on our lives. Brainstorm our kids.. Its ENTERTAINMENT but we accept it....

No, we should blame the parents who don't teach their children with less that who you are matters more than your material possesions. Just because someone is privliged doesn't mean they deserve to die because some other guy is jealous of what they have. I grew up in one of the wealthiest areas of the country but because my mother had brain cancer when I was five and was forced to support both of us on social security disability I was not able to have all of the material things (nice things, tons of vacations etc) that all of my peers had. Just because I wasnt able to have all that they did I wouldnt walk into school and kill thirty of them. We should be more concerned with the values that Chos parents instilled into him.

Its always easier to blame the rich, the media, than take responsibility for one's self. I grieve for the parents of the dead students.

you can't be serious. people's social standings does not give others the right to shoot them. he was not dirt poor. he was a depressed sociopath. he hated himself because he did not "fit in". when you stalk students and write stories like the ones he did, i don't know a lot of people that would be willing to befriend such a person, REGARDLESS of their economical status. the only people to blame here, are him, his family for not being able to notice that their son was obviously extremely disturbed, and the people that failed him when he did reach out for help. this was a very troubled kid.
