high blood pressure....many things

2007-04-19 00:46:25 · answer #1 · answered by Anonymous · 0 0

This could be several things. I'm pregnant, and my light headedness is caused by heat, and the way my body is trying to support the extra weight of the pregnancy. Other causes can be blood sugar, if you are diabetic. You may be dehydrated. You may be having an irregular heart beat causing your blood pressure to be low. When you feel like this, try eating or drinking something, or lying on your left side. If you have this happen often, you need to see a doctor.

Acually the primary cause of light-headedness is LOW blood pressure. You can usually tell if you have low bp if you get lightheaded when getting up quickly (also called postural hypotension). Low blood pressure can be caused by dehydration, pregnancy, heat, and even exercise.
