Well, a damn critical question... emotionally and sentimentally saving your child is first priority but every living creature is SELFISH and being selfish isn't bad all the way and all the time... so that SELFISH instinct in yourself forces you to save your own life first. Instictively you will save your life only. At some situation and point of life you would think only of yourself yourself and just yourself.

I can't say right now what I would do if I will be in such situation... because I hate hypocricy and can't answer to such critical question thinklessly.

Let me remind you of the very first day of this year 2007 .

A bloke saved someone right under from the wheels of a train .

So it is not that we cannot save others at the cost of our life .

Other acts of such indomitable courage have also been seen earlier all over the world .

So i belonging to the same species will not discard a possibility of me getting brave at these times .

What's more important is the presence of supreme divine consciousness that we all believe in .

If there's a divine presence with us at these crucial times ,

we will always do the right thing .

All the more that very situation may change to help us.

I am a human and therefore I would have more brains then to be in the swimmimg pool if I couldn't swim. So would not give up trying ,however, in any event. But a human often acts with their heart whereas a monkey acts on survival instincts, So which is more intelligent!!

First you should know where are you standing. When water started coming, it is obvious that we have to get out of the pool. You need not put the baby here and there until you have some problem which makes you not to move. When you are free and knows pretty well that you are going to sink with your baby, even then you are not ready to go out means, there is some thing laking may be the brilliance. Those guys are unfit to live.

Peggy S just shut your mouth. I hope your shoe size isn't all that big. Honestly your question is full of criticism. The truth is you don't know what you are going to do until you are actually there. Right now we can say the ideal thing we would love to do, yet the true answer is you don't know until it actually happens to you. Perhaps you are in the same boat as those you are critcizing.

I've actually been there, and almost drowned trying to save the baby's life!! Fortunately the baby started crying and someone noticed that I was holding the baby up as high as my arms could reach.

all the humans or any animals love themselves more than anyone else.even if they claim to love someone else more.this is a fact and hence if i was the monkey i would have done the same thing what the monkey did in ur story.

I would save my child's life. But being human, I would forsee that this problem was coming and save both of us "before" only one of us could be saved.
