his actions definately indicates his severe depression, anger & delusions.
what he did was very wrong. but it also brought to light how depression can harm oneself & others when left unchecked.
i feel sorry for the 32 victims too. i am sad that their grieving families has to deal with the horrific massacre aftermath.
he lives in his own delusions. what causes it?
i suspect his upbringing has to do with him, in addition to his interpretation of experiences that he sustained.
his parents' expectations of him may add on to his pressure , & poverty may have disgusted him because he felt he was deprived of many basic things in life.
i would believe that his parents may have constantly reminded him of his obligations to them...like how much they have sacrificed, in order to get him into USA for such an expensive education.....like a business transaction?
or that, he had to repay them once he starts working....
maybe, he was just a sensitive boy who felt that he had a HUGE obligation owed to his family.
these are asian values, where children need to repay the parents- filial piety.
(filial piety is a good value, but some parents have 'deluded' expectations from their children, like the children are 'indebted' to them...)
his experiences in USA may have provoked him further, where he is an asian, and a poor one at that.
he may have tried to blend into the normal social crowd, but was rejected since his thinking is different from many people. so, perhaps, he sinks deeper into depression, & sees the world as cold, unhelpful & pretentious. i have no doubt he was rejected by sniggers, criticism, cold shoulders & outright humiliation.
(his own family doesn't give him warmth & support either...)
when he killed 2 initially, he may decided that he will commit suicide anyway...so, might as well, take everyone with him *sigh*
no 'normal' person will enjoy a killing spree. he is obviously ill & very angry. his parents must be shocked & sad too. maybe he is punishing his mother?
he is still schooling , & his responsibilites were already thrown to him, in addition that he is disgusted with humankind, & he cannot think rationally. its no wonder he wants it 'game over'...and taking 32 people with him.
but taking the innocent victims with him is too darn wrong.

Yeah. He passed the point of no return.
You have to feel sorry for him in that way.
It is too bad people are built the way they are.
Some are just imperfect.
The bad machine doesn't know he's
a bad machine. You still don't
believe it? You still don't believe
you're a bad machine?
To know oneself is to know God, my
friend. The factory knows. That's
why they put you here. You'll see.
You'll find out. Later on you'll
know.
I already know. I know that you're
a bad machine. That's why the
factory keeps you here.
(Lowers s voice)
You know how I know? I know because
I'm from the factory. I make the
machines.. I'm here to spy on you.

I dont feel sorry for him at all. He was one sick person. The ones I feel sorry for are the victims families. They are the ones who need our thoughts and prayers.

by the look of things his persecutions came from his own unstable view of the world so I can't feel sympathy for someone who wasn't actually pushed into doing what he did
