Because we use the air as a reference to compare other things to, so we call it "nothing". The molecules in the gas mixture we call air are far enough apart that we can not see them individually. In fact, we, along with other animals, have probably evolved a version of eyesight that can see through air so that we can catch prey, or escape from predators. Any animal that could see air, would have a very limited view of the world, like walking through fog all the time (apologies to any Londoners out there).
Wind invisibility is just an extension of air invisibility.

Essentially wind is the movement of the air around you, usually due to pressure differences between areas of different temperature. The feeling of "Wind" is your skin feeling all the tiny particles in the air CO^2 N^2, small invisible smoke particles and others colliding with you in large numbers. It generally makes you feel cooler because the new air tends to sweep away the surrounding areas your body has heated up more rapidly than if you simply stood still in a room with no air movement.

This is because the gas, air, is invisible. The wind is just the force being transmitted to the object feeling it by air. To have a colourful wind, stand in a coloured gas and get it blown...

Dear Brother,
Wind is invisible because thats how The Almighty Lord created it. If you have a Bible, go and read Genesis Chap.1. If you don't have please buy one. There you will get many answers to many questions.
In other words, its like asking Why is there Man and Woman?? God bless you Dear.
