Without having read any answers yet, I'd like to think my first few purchase would be like someother's first choices:
Nice, but modest home, along with that goes furnishings, etc.
Car, oh I should have first hired a damn good accountant. Ok, now back to my new life invest some into real estate, cant go wrong there. Donate to charities, or something that would better the community or people in general. That's where I'd have to break and see where I'm at.. Though I'm sure there would be a little something for my brother and mother . I would be happy with that and that alone, huh who wouldn't.....
MAYBE SOMEDAY???? You NEVER KNOW

You have to buy a lottery ticket to win a lottery. Did you buy a ticket? When you try to claim your prize they'll have a host of "fees" you'll be required to pay before collecting your prize. Or, they'll need all your banking info, so they can deposit your prize. Also, since when are lotteries announced in private emails? None of these things are true of a genuine lottery. No fees are required, no banking info is asked for, and lottery results are posted publicly, nor kept a secret as your email no doubt asks you to do. It's 99.9% likely it's a scam, unless you actually bought a ticket for this lottery.

I would spend it on a house.... desperatly wanting and needing a house a family of five in a 2 bedroom apt. is getting old and and sad. Plus I feel in lots of ways i am depriving my kids of things living in an apt. such as pets...etc... It wouldn't even have to be a fancy house just an average middle class okay nice house to make a home out of it.

We've discussed this many times. I would share it with loved ones, but to do so in a way that they don't know it came from me. They will always feels obligated to me if they knew and I wouldn't want too much fuss.
Of course I would travel and make sure my son is set up for his future. I'd keep the same house, maybe update the landrover.

$1million isn't really alot of money these days, I'd have to try and turn it into a bit more, then live comfortably off the interest :)
Would be real nice.....
