Yes for the most part. I mean they are a special kind of visitor, but as far as just inducting themselves into the household at will in order to reap the benefits of the what the household has to offer... no, they don't have a right to that. The only people that will ever have an absolutely open invite is my kids(or hers.) But there are still certain expectations of them, just as there are with a wife or a minor child in the home. There is a difference between household members and family.

I'm not classed as a visitor at my mums!
My brother in law comes round al the time so definatly not!
but then if my nan was to come she would always be a special visitor!
So i would say close family & friends NO
not so close family then yes.
Also do they hav a spare key if they hav then they cant be a visitor as they cud let themself in even if you wernt ther so not actually "visiting" you!
My mother in law used to say "once youve been once your not a visitor anymore!"

i don't even class friends as visitors


here is my house rule.....
if you have been here 3 times or more then have at it
you can get your own drinks,food etc.......
my door is open and you have been here so there ya go i am a gracious host for the first 3 times but after that your not a visitor

depends which member of the family it is-if its someone i see all the time no. but i dont see every1 in my family all the time so i'd class them as visitors
