if they can walk they can help obviously not with alot at begining but more as they grow (same with boys) first they should be able to put away their own toys and clean their area next they could start helping bring in their own dishes for you to wash maybe help walk the dog or something maybe take out the garbage later in life and help in laundry don't expect miracles or alot but expect some it teaches them resposibility and help if you make them do stuff as you sit on the couch then you have failed being a parent if you do things with them and teach them it is a job but can be fun then you are teaching well

ROUTINE AND HABIT CAN BE A GREAT THING!
Oh my goodness you're thinking of this all wrong you should be asking yourself do you want this girl to know how to take care of herself ? YES I thought so ! Age in babysitting does matter because the your state has age guidelines for the age you can be to babysit but cleaning her room doing the dishes and picking up the living room, and sorting clothes can be started early ! even tottlers can pick up a toy or too take there hand guide it out towards a toy they automatically pickup ( there little grabs at that age) and then guide the hand towards the toy box to release 2 toys is good and give verbal praise and hugs !

Children can start as early as toddlers. Picking up and putting away toys etc. As the child grows, slowly increase amount of work. 6, bringing in the mail, putting dirty clothes in hamper.8, loading/unloading dishwasher or washer and loading dryer. 10, washing dishes and starting washer. Etc. As for babysitting, I started at about 12. But it depends on the child. Are they responsible and calm, are they unafraid of being on their own. Can they complete a course on basic CPR. My friends and I did a babysitting course at the public library, and it was very helpful.

i think it depends on the parents but i think that frm as early as 8yrs,a child should start doin light things around the house and the more they grow, the more work they should take on..All the people living in the house should the work and the kids should do most of the cleaning and tiding up.

About as soon as they can walk. First they pick up their toys and put them away as they get older they get more chores. By the time they are 8 or so they can be doing their own laundry. My kids did and they are boys.

As soon as she or he is old enough, a child should have chores. They are part of the household and should participate in the care of it. It is called learning responsibility.
