Not all superheroes wear tight costumes. I’ll give you ONE example of a hero with a loose, flowing costume: Cloak, of Cloak and Dagger. (If you don’t know him, look him up.) His cloak of darkness is yards and yards (the whole nine yards, one might say) of fabric. If it was not for his special powers, he would probably trip and get lost in it. In some ways, the cloak physically represents his stuttering problem he had when a friend of his died because he couldn’t warn him in time. Now, he does not stutter, and he doesn’t trip or get tangled in the cloak.

For superheroes that wear no clothes at all, see my previous Best Answer on that topic.

They wear tight costumes b/c its easier to draw a nude body then a body in clothes. Then they just change the colors and instant costume. Comic and cartoon artists have deadlines and this was a way to cut down on time. its that simple. If i was a superhero I think I might want loose fitting clothes. Freedom of movement and all.

of course. Well back in the earlier part of the 20th century i think they thought capes made flying more possible. As for the tights, maybe they were just coincidentally robin hood fans or fancy'd a bit of zorro in their day. about the underpants outside the tights? lets just say the illustrators back then felt the need to "increase" the competition. Makes them fearless.

they wear tight costumes to cut down on friction also loose garments would get caught or stuck because of their constant movements. A lot of super heroes were created when tight clothes were in fashion plus people enjoy seeing heir tight bodies

yes it is very necessary.

probably they want to show their mucles and stuffs

but the main reason why they wear tight costumes is so that nothing will get in their way of fighting or specifically block their way

Apart from showing off their bodies, wearing tight clothings reduces frictional forces when they fly around. =P

it is more tradition that comic creators came up with a long time ago to show off thier muscles (or breasts) and show how they stand above other people.

not all comic characters wear tight costumes.

dr. doom certainly doesn't, neither does conan the barbarian.

No, it probably isnt neccessary other than to keep them from snagging their clothing while on duty but Id say it is a well established tradition.
