Why bother when the Supreme Court won't allow their votes to be counted, either?

It certainly depends on the child, some children are fully capable of the responsibility of voting and making an educated decision. now, there are children who simply couldnt make a smart decision based on what they have seen in the media, a decision that would better the entire country. Alot of times, even with adults its all about nepetism. Who likes whos view of a certain issue, or simply that a candadate is in their particular party. I think, personally that there should be a test, just like getting your driving liscense that proves that you are mature enough to vote.
what are your thoughts?

BTW im 11 years old. I do pay taxes because I am a working actress, and not all children are conformists nor uneducated about the political issues going on in our system.

Hell No, most kids cant even think for themselves. They need to learn(go to school, get an education) Be kids. Children don't have a clue! There votes would be the same as their friends voted, cause they want to be just like their friends They would have no idea what the candidates were talking about or what they stand for, just that their friends were voting for them

No way! That'd be the same thing as giving parents an extra vote. Why should people who procreate get more of a voice in government than those without children?

NO. They would just vote for who their parents voted for in most cases. Sometimes I think 18 is even too young to vote. I'm 16, but I have friends who are a couple years older and I think- "THEY get to vote?! That's a scary thought!"

Children are not yet allowed to vote because they do not have mature minds to select the leader of the country.

I think that They should lower the age to at least 15 or 16. Many teenagers are really smart and CAN THINK FOR THEMSELVES. We understand the basics of politics and we can choose who we want to vote for. If you opened your eyes and listened to some kids and stepped off your high horses that make you think for some reason that kids are dumb you would realize that many of us express our opinions on who we think should be president and most of the time they are smart responses. Therefore YES...they should lower the voting age.

Of course not. Let them enjoy their childhoods, and leave voting to those who pay taxes and understand the issues. Children's parents will vote accordingly if any issues affecting them arise.

No, because they don't yet have a basis for their opinion. I really wish their were some kind of testing for voting registration, like they have for getting a drivers' license.
