To keep his oil and his puppet government safe.
I see if you tell the truth you get the thumbs down. if you believe the lie that we went there for WMDs then you are accepted. But wait wasn't the WMDs one big lie too?I really hope this country will wake up and smell the oil. That is why we went there. That and because Saddam wouldn't play with the rest of the NWO in the globalization of the one world government.

You will only hear from pessimists on this subject. I am one that supports the war and our troops. I am attaching a link to one of the presidents speeches in Jan. 2007. He explains why we are still there and what it will take to end the war. If we stop now, millions of innocent people in Iraq will suffer and die in the hands of terrorists and insurgents whom have no conscience about killing. Yes, we have an interest in the oil in the region, but we all live needing oil. That is not the only reason we are fighting. If we were to leave now, the new government there would collapse and it would be a place for these terrorists to flourish and use oil money to fund their cause. It would be another genecide. al Queda has already said that they would attack America again.
Make your own judgement about this war. Don't listen to those who want to make it sound like there is no purpose to it. They are wrong.

The mission of this war is money. The vice president's former company Haliburtan moved it's world headquarters to the Middle East for the money. There are U.S. companies paying "security" employees six-figure salaries to do the things that we think our soldiers are there to do, and the soldiers are barley making minimum wage. There's a reason that the President has to keep asking Congress for more money--it's to pay the civilian contractors so they won't leave!

I'd say when Iraq Army is trained and large enough to take care of themselves. If we leave now then all the deaths of U.S. Soldiers will truly be for nothing.
However judging by all these intelligent answers, I may be wrong. It seems we are after oil, which leaves me wondering why I'm still paying $3 a gallon if we have control over all the oil.

nothing, its just a DRAMA
there is no use of putting forces in Iraq to maintain peace there. But if we analyze carefully, then we will know that all violence there today is due to presence of US army there.
Bush just want to make American hold on that area, to use oil resources and to keep control on geographical state of world.
from Iraq, he can manage middle east, as he already hold in Afghanistan to watch Pakistan and India....
so use peace is lame excuse.

Luke 2.32 to solve Luke 21. 22-24
The Liberation of Freedom for the good of mankind with the creation of peace on earth goodwill to men in planet of apes.
With "One more try" in finding our way back home in worshiping God in planet of apes.
After the Liberation of Freedom for the good of mankind from world war two with the creation of peace on earth goodwill to men with time we created the same blunders and slip-ups with human errors like those back in the past in making a mess and monkey out of the misery of living human kind with the loss of peace on earth goodwill to men again in planet of apes.
Once we can hit the home-run with the yellow ribbon then we antiques will leave Planet Earth as the greatest place in heaven on earth for all the little ones out there with "Joy to the world"
