Im looking for engineers or someone with indepth knowledge of a car's engine. Is the guy full of BS or is this really possible? I know those fuel injection cleaners help out with mileage a little. Would pure acetone really make a difference?

James, Try a little test with acetone on plastics & rubber in your shop. You'll see that it "melts" several of'em. Your car has rubber/plastic seals & O-rings. Don't hurt your car !

This question was just on here yesterday. I have the same answer today. Acetone is a solvent, and will tend to weaken or dissolve your rubber seals in the gas line, and won't do the plastic ones any good either. As another person suggested, get a Styrofoam coffee cup and pour some straight acetone in there and see what happens. Watch the results and see if a little extra gas mileage is worth it.

Yes, it increases your miles per gallon. Use 2 oz. per 10 gallons. I have researched this . Google Acetone. You are not filling your tank with acetone. Of course if you pour straight acetone on paint or plastic it will destroy it.
