I tried it. Mostly a con. What you get is a "chance to win" something. Nothing out there like $5 per survey. The risk is more spam in your box and more of your identity revealed to the world.

I've been doing this for a few years now and I usually make about $20 a month taking surveys (most pay $1-5...occassionally I'll get one that pays around $10). There are three ways I've been paid for surveys--by check, by pay-pal, or by points which I can exchange for rewards (like gift cards or CDs).
I think the risk is the scams...you have to be careful not to use a site which will rip you off or misuse your info. Also, if you are going with a site which has a points system or a minimum that you have to earn before you can cash out, you want to check to see if those points expire after a certain amount of time--and only stick with them if they send enough surveys that you can cash out in that amount of time.

I think this is mostly a scam. I suggest going to the message boards at the wahm.com website. You can search there and find out what others have to say. If by chance it is not a scam, you will be able to find out which survey sites are real and which ones pay the best.
By the way, I have no affiliation with the site - I just use it and find very valuable information there.

Do not go for those "Paid Survey Sites" directly.
Try out the easier ones first....... like :-
