Watch the movie 'Hotel Rwanda'. That should give you a lot of information in 2 hours. It's also a good movie, based on a true story. It's pretty shocking. To think the real-life event was worst then that.

Try the book, "We Wish to Inform You That Tomorrow We Will be Killed With Our Families," by Philip Gourevitch. It's very powerful, but it's not difficult to read, and offers background information as well as personal anecdotes.

"Freedom on Fire" by John Shattuck gives an excellent behind-the-scenes understanding of what went wrong in the international community that allowed Rwanda to happen.
