I once had a snail that died from lack of food. I have a 6 and 8 year old Goldfish. Goldfish are always hungry. They like to eat anything and everything it can get in their mouths, they even comb the gravel floor for more food, most often leaving the other slower fish to starve. Your snail might of died from lack of food.
Also, goldfish are a dirty fish. They can cloud a small aquarium with ammonia very quickly. If you have a lot of fish in a small tank (10 gal) you'll need to do a 50% water change every week, and siphon the gravel to pick up poo that can cause a bloom of bad bacteria in the water.

You put in your tank before it was able to cycle and start to grow bio. Thats your problem. It is called new tank syndrom...google it. I suggest restarting your tank ie, empty it refill it, change filter and DO NOT add any fish for at least a month, then wait a moth and do a 15% water change every month. Most people have this problem because they are so excited to get fish that they jump the gun...just be patient. Do not add to many fish at once, let the bio stabilize and adjust.

Snail died? Man that IS bad news. They are always the last to go if something is wrong. However...it could something like old age.
If your water is still 'clouded' you may want to check if your bio-filter is working. After two weeks it should but it seems to fail in your case. If you don't have a bio filter...well that would explain a lot. Change half the water every week...or install that bio-filter anyway.

Well you better change the water since it's cloudy already. I bet that your snail already died since you say that it's floating and there's no movement going on. Check your filter too.

At 2 weeks your tank is just starting to cycle. You have way to may animals in it right now. I'm surprised the fish aren't showing signs of illness. Here is an article that will help you get the tank established.

change your water, and treat it with conditioner from the pet store....and check the ph level... lift your snail out of the water and check underneath to see if its body is still inside, if it is then its still ok, it probably has a air bubble inside but will fall to the bottom eventually, if there's no body then your fish have eaten it....
