When Christ was asked a similiar question during His Sermon on the Mount, He asked the questioner to look at a Roman coin. He asked him, "Who's likeness is on the coin?" The man said, "Caesar's". Christ said to him then, "Render to Caesar what is Caesar's and to God what is God's." He told us to be obedient to authority. If the authority acts contrary to God's laws, it will be judged accordingly. The Lord said, "Vengence is mine", which means it does matter how we treat the poor, the sick, and whether we turn the other cheek or not. Obey authority. But also in matters of faith, obey God.

The government now days mostly instructs you to make a profit, but is suppose to instruct you so that there is order. The gospel instructs you so that you will receive blessings rather then cursings. Someone who is living a sinful life simply lives for himself and how he can enhance his being. Someone who lives for Christ lives for the benefit of others and how he can help them. The later is unhappy and lives with regrets the other lives with joy peace and is fearless of death. When Christ enters someone that person receives a clean heart, which has sincerity. Someone without God may love someone and have a heart, but not on the same level when someone they love dies they feel empty and even suicidal. The Christian when he looses someone close knows that he still has a reason to live.

I have thought about this a lot. If we didn't pay the taxes we did, we would be where we were at the turn of the century. With the Rockafellers and Vanderbilts holding everything, and everybody else in squalor.

If we do get rid of the welfare taxes, there would have to be a system in place that reduces exploitation. This welfare system isn't working too well. It was fine and dandy in FDR's day, before crack and heroin, but I agree we need some changes.
