I just donned the name Taarna on my female 6lb iguana. (it is from Heavy Metal) I have also used celtic or ancient names for my pets. Zondra , lexi, Thor, posideon, Tarack, Load, stuff like that.

My daughter gave me a Basset Hound puppy for my birthday that she named Precious Fart Blossom. I also have 2 adult red-ear sliders named Havoc and Mayhem. And we recently rescued an orange tabby kitten, male, that we have named Norman Bates.
(trust me, they all live up to their names!!!)

As you posted in "reptiles," I would suggest Fido, Spot, Lassie or Old Yeller.

Naming a dog "cat" or vice versa, or even the same. . .what's sad is naming it "stupid" or something degrading
