Yes. Over the years, I have definitely grown to like him as a character more and more, based on the great writing and artwork in the comics, not the movies. Batman Begins was surprisingly good, and I look forward to The Dark Knight, the sequel to Batman Begins. Here are some great Batman comics to consider reading:

Elseworlds (imaginary stories outside of regular story continuity)

1. Batman: Crimson Mist, Red Rain, etc., where Batman gets turned into a vampire. The artwork alone is worth the money for the trilogy of books.

2. Batman: Speeding Bullet. What would have happened if Clark Kent were found by the Wayne family instead of the Kents?

3. Batman: Gotham by Gaslight. A Victorian era Batman.

O.K., these are just a few, but the regular canon of comics have been good. The Hush storyline was enjoyable despite some flaws, and now Harley Quinn is back in the Batman storyline, so I look forward to more stuff. BTW, I have this great Batman mini-statue designed by Jim Lee. I've also like how he's been written when in the Justice League, and he's proven to be a formidable character despite being just "
human".

Yeah, I just started reading some Batman comics and love them all!!! Always been a fan since I was a kid. I watched the cartoons and movies but never really read the comics until now. I am hooked all over again! He's the best because he is human but the underlying obsession and determination makes him interesting. He always solves the crime using his intellect. And those cool gadgets...

With a few minor exceptions, the Batman character is the most believable of the comic heroes. Some of his gadgets are bit out there, but hey, it's fiction, right? All fiction calls for a suspension of disbelief. That he alone is responsible for his abilities, not some strange sun or radioactive spider etc. makes him closer to 'the real world.' Who among us would not want to exact revenge for the murder of our family? But even though that was his motivation, he still will not demand the ultimate payment from those he hunts. As dark as he is, as prepared as he is to scare the bejeepers out of the crooks, he takes them in alive. Though as Christian Bale said in 'Batman Begins,' "I won't kill you, but that doesn't mean I have to save you." Now that's a classic line!

Batman is my all tme favorite. He is dark and is not afraid to do what it takes ( unless its the Joker) to end a problem. Unlike the overgrown Boyscout Superman

I like Batman (and always have) because he's the most human, without having any "special powers".
