I have read the basic tenents of his presentation already, and I am IMPRESSED, because he apparently will withhold nothing.
He will present the whole sordid Iraqi bucket of worms (without lies), beginning with pre-911 times, which alot of us haven't taken the time to explore...
Might be worth watching --for truths' sake.

"mlee", I believe that that date is correct--I've seen it advertised as such several times.
And, indeed, the special series "America at a Crossroads" this week on PBS WAS certainly an education for me.

I´m in Mexico today, and just discovered that my landlords´2 cables doesn´t carry PBS, so I´ll depend on reruns, which I´m sure will be available.

Hopefully, it will be very enlightening. The question is whether people will be willing to learn or will just go with their hearts regardless of what is said. But likely there will be some very telling pictures that it will be hard to deny. For instance, Donald Rumsfeld meeting with Saddam Hussein on very friendly terms. Saddam was always an evil S.O.B., but as the saying goes, for quite a while there, he was OUR S.O.B. If Moyers just shows how complicated things were/are, maybe it will encourage more people to think less simplistically about this whole mess.
A good example of the oversimplification is the answer given by "Jace." It is simply not true that "everyone in the world" believed that Saddam had WMD. That's a good example of after the fact rationalization put out by the administration and swallowed whole by too many people. He's right that a lot of people thought that, including some liberals. But on the other hand many, many others did not. Most notably, U.N. inspectors had found no evidence of such. Before the war, one of the leading inspectors was debating with O'Reilly. The inspector said the supposedly dangerous aluminum tube were worthless; O'Reilly deeply disagreed with him. Guess who turned out to be right?
In fact, if you have been paying attention to the reports coming out of the Pentagon, the intelligence community here in the U.S. was at best deeply divided about what Iraq had and didn't have. Hopefully, Moyers will shed some very bright light.

I’ve had my DVR programmed for a week to record Bill Moyers’ Journal. “Buying the War” focuses on the media’s handling of the run-up to the Iraq War. This should be very interesting.
The media will definitely not like this presentation.

Since I've been watching the week of PBS programs on the events leading up to the present in Iraq, along with opposing points of view, I doubt that he will be withholding anything due to the fact it's already on the table.
He's a fair and honest reporter. Let's hope that people are willing to listen with the same level of fairness and honesty.

Bill Moyers is always Impressive.
Would love to see it. Are you sure about the date?
On the 25th my local PBS has:
Secrets of the Dead
The dangers faced by religious reformers and those who translated the Bible into English are examined in this compelling episode.

I haven't heard about this yet. Do you know what time will this program come on in the Central Time zone next Wednesday? If Moyers tells everything, my first impression is that minions of the Bush Administration will be saying right away that it was a pack of lies, because it won't match their rose colored view of reality.

I should not be observing. you think of that's the reality on account that's what you desire to have faith. invoice Moyers is in simple terms preaching to his very own choir besides. what's going to you human beings do whilst Bush is long gone? bypass returned to blaming Isreal for the worlds issues?

It sure will... I can't wait. Can;t wait to hear the whining and crying that the cons will set up right after.
It could get him banned if the Republicans have any say... but they have so much slime following them around these days, perhaps they will keep quiet.
Go Bill!!!!

Interesting. I wonder if he wil be fair handed and point out that everyone in the world Including liberals believed that Saddam had WMD. Hell, even everyone in the UN believed it.
