honestly, it's a sad day when the only two entertaining singers on American Idol are in the bottom three (Blake and Sanjaya) and two people with bad voices (Phil and Chris) are safe.
plus, the two perfomances were awful. Fergie didn't sing any of her *good* songs and McBride was boring!
american idol is soooo fake. the judges rehearse what they're going to say after seeing the contestants the day before. and sanjaya got voted off because the show is rigged for ratings.
you can see how it would be easy to do, considering there are no "ballots" that can be checked or traced for their votes...and Simon knew that Sanjaya was going to get voted off.
Plus, Sanjaya wasn't even in the bottom 3 for the last 5 weeks. Now suddenly he drops to last? Seems suspicious knowing that most of his fans were "die-hard" and voted for him no matter what.
And may I add that his popularity is growing exponentially.
Don't know *how* they did it, but something is not right

"you looked about fifty years old"
"green's a good color for you etc."
sure A.I. is entertaining, but not a credible singing show.

I honestly thought the same thing and I know I voted for Sanjaya at least five times for his performance, and no it wasn't no where as good as last weeks Besame Mucho but I still like Sanjaya because he has so much potential. But he is taking it all in stride. He is truly a kid, or he is masking his real persona very well. Sanjaya has a lot of Prince like qualities and that says A LOT! Though quiet and shy like I see some "sexinesss" about him. He is playful and loves attention much like Prince, contrary to popular belief. Prince has had a very lucrative career and people talked MADD crap about him when he came out 29 years ago! So that says what? Sanjaya shouldn't listen to any of the negative comments. I hope he uses his DEMO's from Idol to get a record deal because his recording are good and he already has a namesake.

You are right about a couple things. Yeah, I wish Fergie did sing a more popular song like Glamorous. Yes, Sanjaya was never in the bottom three then he just suddenly left..... suspicious. American Idol may be a little planned, but the judges do not plan what they are going to say. If you hate the show then don't watch it.
You were also wrong about some things. The show didn't suck. You juss said that because your favorite got voted off. Martina McBride wasn't boring, you just aren't a country fan, neither am I. Just because Sanjaya wasn't in the botom three and all of a sudden he get voted off, doesn't mean they rigged the show. Maybe all the other contestants' votes got higher and Sanjaya's stayed the same. The showw may be a little planned but not totally, and Simon is the bomb. He is the only judge who gives real criticism. :-) Hope you watch and still vote even though Sanjaya is gone!

I do not think the show is rigged. As far as Simon knowing, I think he was hoping, as was I. Sanjaya should have been gone a long time ago and I blame the show for building him as a character during the auditions, for his long stay. I was so happy to see him go. I really thought that others would go first, because there are some people that were 100 times better that are already gone. I thought that Chris should have been in the bottom three not Blake, but I was still on the edge of my seat, just hoping I would no longer have to hear Sanjaya "perform". I got my wish. Nothing against the kid, he is very charming, but he had not business on this show.
I watched the CMT awards the other night and was telling my boyfriend how impressed I was with Carrie Underwood. I just love her and she is the package. I don't think anyone on the show this season can get even close. Of course the only other winner of Idol that I even like is Kelly Clarkson. Those two have the package to be amazing, not seeing anyone with it this year. My favorite is Blake, but I don't think he will actually win it. The women have it this year. I am hoping for Jordan, but we will see. : )

I am sorry but Sanjaya completely sucks!!!!!!!! It was his time a long time ago. This is supposed to be a singing competition not a popularity contest! What are you talking about something is not right! what is not right is the fact that Sanjaya stayed so long. He knocked some better contestants out because somehow America forgot what American Idol is really about! After last night I can say that, Finally, American Idol Has Begun!!!!
P.S. I understand that Sanjaya is only a kid, and I commend him for his heart. However, he chose to play with the big leagues, so the truth might hurt, but he signed up for it!

First of all Sanjaya should have been voted off weeks ago. If the show was "rigged" he would have been. He's only had one decent performance since they got down to the top 24. As for Phil he has a great voice. His only problem is his stage presence, which he kicked butt on this week. I agree with you on Chris. Fergie sucks to begin with, I hope you are being facetious on that one. Martina is an amazing vocalist. She is the best guest performer they have had on the show this year!!! Sure it would be easy to rig the show. But if they did that it wouldn't be a show any more. You have to take into account that every time a person gets voted off, there are thousands of people who voted for them so their votes get spread out amongst the remaining contestants. Plus if you have watched any of the past seasons you have seen people go from the top group to getting kicked off in a matter of a week. And Sanjaya preformed horribly this week. He was off key the entire time. Thank God he's gone!!
By the way, the point of the show isn't to find the most entertaining people, its to find the best singer!!

Sanjaya should have been gone a long time ago.....To keep him around made the show interesting and it made people watch just to see when and if he would finally go. In many ways they used Sanjaya but in the end Sanjaya will come out on top because just like William Hung he will make a record and it will sell even if he cant sing!

Blakes performance was not stellar, however I think it should have been Chris in the bottom with Sanjaya and LaKisha. If there would have a been a bottom four, then maybe Blake should have been there.
As far as Sanjaya goes... The poor kid never should have gone that far. The fact that those jerks at Stern and VFTW intentionally gave this kid false hope that he had what it took to be a superstar is twisted and cruel. Watching his tears upset me. It made me want to beat the crap out of Stern.
Here's this sweet kid that has a dream, he was pumped up to believe that he could go all the way only to be humiliated and have people cheer like crazy that he was voted off on national television. How would you feel?
If AI is rigged, then I think he would have been gone awhile ago like he should have been. I don't think they would intentionally wreck a poor kids emotions.... Or at least i would hope....

He dropped to the bottom because his last performance sucked. All of the judges agreed: it was horrible. Why Blake was there, I don't know. Why Chris was not there, I know. He just had to talk about the Virginia shooting to get votes.
Sanjaya's popularity is growing exponentially? Right. Most people hate him. When Ryan told everyone that he was leaving, did you hear how many people were cheering on the show? And I heard my neighbors running around cheering inside their house, screaming "he's finally gone!!". I was literally rolling on the floor laughing when Sanjaya's clip was rolling and he was crying. I seriously could not stop laughing, because it was hilarious, and there's probably thousands of preteen girls crying with him too.
The show's rigged? Nah, I don't think so. If it was, Sanjaya would still be there. American Idol was getting high ratings because of him. With him gone, American Idol might even be scared that it's going to lose ratings. More ratings = more money.

You mentioned that Sanjaya had never been in the bottom 3 before but a week or two ago they split the contestants into three groups and Sanjaya was in the MIDDLE three. Also, if I'm not mistaken Lakisha has always been in the TOP 3 and last night she was the lowest vote getter next to Sanjaya. She is someone that the judges DO like so if the voting is rigged how do you explain her being in that position.

Sucks???? The William Hung of the 2007 FINALLY got the size 13 boot to the keister.
Funny thing Is... Sanjaya has already been approached to do spokesman and commercial spots, so even though he's been punted from the show, he'll end up a multi-millionaire from fees and royalties for the commercials he's been approached to do.
So... dont feel sorry for Sanjaya.. or mad he's gone. He's now set for life just because of the notoriety he's earned from Idol....
