As you see every day killing in Iraq. After US killed Saddam, can not control Iraq situation. Today Iraq became a poor country. (Is it due to US?) Where is the chemical and other Iraqis weapons? How long it will take more, just killing innocents. Is US enjoying this bloodshed and builds up US Economies with Iraqis oil. Because people are saving them life's and US look after Iraqis oil and transferring. Was there any deal with IRAQI Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki " You will be the PM if you kill Saddam and others those are anti US"?

He was a questionable leader for Iraq. There was sectarian tension between the Shia's and the Sunni's but any trouble was quickly stamped out.

He didnt care much for human rights, he did persecute the Kurds but there is strong evidence held by the US to point to the Iranians gassing them during the Iran/Iraq war. There was no gassing of the Kurds in the Gulf Wars, contrary to popular belief... this is people getting their history muddled (generally the misinformed americans).

The sad part of this all is that Saddam could have built a strong and thriving country which could have been a beacon for the Middle East.... Iraq was a fairly moderate arab state, no where near as strict as Saudi Arabia or Yemen for example. I don't know at what point he turned from respected leader into crazy mental person.

I hope that Iraq will find a way forward with the help of the West and that they will rebuild their country and contribute to the worlds economy thus contributing to their own.

Undoubtedly he was a strong leader. He built up the infrastructure of Iraq (only for it to be destroyed by the west) and was respected by many Arabs. As for him being a cruel leader, we're talking about different cultures and values: he could control the Iraqi people, which no one has managed to do since. Although the Halabjah incident is often cited as evidence of genocide, a committee of academics concluded that Iran was more likely to have been responsible for this incident, which occurred close to the border at the height of the Iran-Iraq war when both sides were using gas (supplied by whom?). Interestingly enough, this specific incident was never brought to trial.

I wonder if a deal was done with the person purported to be Saddam Hussein who was executed. When arrested he looked like a rough sleeper who had been disturbed. How many arrests have camera crews standing by? They probably trained this hobo whilst he was in gaol, assuring him that if he said the right things he'd be O.K. Of course we know what happened.,

Saddam was a strong leader for the Iraqis, but not in the way that you might think. He killed people that opposed him and he kidnapped and tortured others into doing his work. This showed his strength as a leader by putting fear into his fellow countrymen. While he may have been a strong leader, he would not be considered a good one. I think whether people agree with the war or not, we can all agree that Saddam was a pretty crappy leader.

Saddam was a strong leader, but a cruel one. He was responsible for hundreds of thousands of Iraqis being tortured and murdered. Plus, he supported terrorism in other countries.
When Saddam was deposed from power, it left a power vacuum. The Iraqi people had been controlled by corruption and terror, and a lot of those people are still trying to get in power again. That is why Iraq is in such disarray.
Besides that, terrorists from other countries are taking advantage of Iraq's situation now.
The US is not making money from this. It is costing us money. We are doing it in hopes of promoting safety and peace, not to get money.

That depends on how you define "strong". Saddam was a tyrant- & he killed whoever he wanted -WHENEVER he wanted. Since nobody wanted to get his "attention", the fear of Him kept everybody pretty much in line. So violence was at a minimum. With His "control" gone, & only a very weak & divided government in his place- Iraq is now a battle ground between different groups who want that "control" of the people- for themselves. And WE- are the "monkeys in the middle..." :(

Saddam has many faults, he was not the most perfect ruller but at least there were no daily carnages, blood shed and many iraqis were benefiting from thier national resources, oil and other national products. Now many many more Iraqis are being killed/maimed daily and USA getting reveue from iraqi OIL.

Absolutely, tyrants rule with an iron fist and kill anyone that steps out of line. Ask the 15,000 Kurds he gassed to death with those WMD's that he didn't have.
