earlier this week i've been hearing that Fox was planning to rig the votes on American Idol to get Sanjaya off the show. I heard that reason they did this is because they were getting to much bad publicity and if he won their hit show would be utterly ruined. I've heard this from a few different people...true or not...i personally think this is unfair....it doesnt matter if he cant sing.... if americans are voting for him, no matter what the reason, it means they want him as their idol and thats what the shows all about... what do you think?.... thanks in advance

you can see how it would be easy to do, considering there are no "ballots" that can be checked or traced for their votes...and Simon knew that Sanjaya was going to get voted off.

Plus, Sanjaya wasn't even in the bottom 3 for the last 5 weeks. Now suddenly he drops to last? Seems suspicious knowing that most of his fans were "die-hard" and voted for him no matter what.

And may I add that his popularity is growing exponentially.

Don't know *how* they did it, but something is not right

It's a sad day when the only two entertaining singers on American Idol are in the bottom three (Blake and Sanjaya) and two people with bad voices (Phil and Chris) are safe.

He is a performer, and his singing of "Besame mucho" was really good!

Now I may get some thumbs down, but if Fox did do this, I say good for them. I mean they can exercise the same freedom we as the American public do. I mean the website votefortheworst, was designed for the purpose of ending idol by getting American's to vote for the worst. Why can't Fox do the same by ensuring the worst contestant gets voted off. Remember, Sanjaya has bad vocals week after week. I think he had maybe one good week. I heard it said, Chris should have gone home or even Lakisha. But they have one or two bad weeks compared to 5 or so of Sanjaya and it's not fair. Let's not be hypocrites people.

i actually have heard of that too. its probably true...american idol is actually a pretty fake show and theres a lot of secrets people dont know about. the auditions are totally set up, i mean how can the judges seriously critique thousands of people in like 2 days? also, i heard that they do two tapings of the show and then pick the better one which is really lame, and the judges actually practice what theyre gonna say to the contestants after the performance. so the show we see has already been seen by the judges.

anyways, i think thats so messed up if they did that. all they seriously care about is money. they say theyre gonna be donating stuff for africa but then they have all these huge stars coming on just to increase their ratings.

i was personally a fanjaya and i know MILLIONS of people who voted for sanjaya. i was surprised chris richardson wasnt in the bottome three, i seriously think theres some conspiracy going on.

I loved him. He went through alot of B.S. on that show just so he could follow his dream. Its pretty sad when a whole country decides to bash someone on what they want to do yet they don't know where their current wars are fought. I think the american idol audience priorties are out of line. And if he was so bad..... why did he make it to the finals anyway, if I remember correctly he didnt forget his lyrics!

I haven't heard the rumor but either way glad to see him go they probably realized if he won he wouldn't be able to sell cds the way the other winners have 14 year olds don't usually have a lot of cash

I believe it can be factual. I think it's about ratings and if Fox suspects a negative effect on the show they could do such. Hollywood is fake anyways! You never know though!

I didn't hear this rumor. THe only reason why he was even on the show was because of a website...votefortheworst.com as well as howard stern.
