Why do they continue to broadcast the details of this incident so openly? Isn't this what incites other crazy people in other parts of the country to commit similar acts of violence?

Agreed.

I am tired of logging onto Yahoo these past two days to see the picture of a killer staring back at me. This type of exposure is exactly what he wanted. The media is going nuts with the package he sent to NBC and his horrible message is being broadcast worldwide. I wouldn't go so far to say that they commit similar acts ONLY to get this type of attention, but I definitely think that the potential for massive exposure and notoriety are one reason people commit acts like this...

No. i don't think of that is blown out of proporiton in any respect. This grew to become right into a extensive tragedy. i don't think of that is whilst in comparison with Iraq because of the fact there's a civil war top now in Iraq and as unlucky and unhappy as that's, deaths are expected there. In VA Tech have been college scholars and professors studying and coaching what they love. It grew to become right into a ask your self, it grew to become into an adverse ingredient for the college, for the families and acquaintances, and for the country. some human beings could care greater approximately human beings. yet Iraq probably cares greater approximately Iraq. basically like another u . s . places their voters first. i'm not attempting to sound obnoxious or impolite i'm basically stating that this may well be a fact of existence. The VA Tech tragedy grew to become into additionally nearer to domicile. The sufferers deserve their memories advised. although i will assert i think of the gunman Cho is getting way too plenty exposure. The sufferers deserve greater interest than the killer. some human beings have self belief there isn't any such ingredient as adverse press and by potential of showing his video message, photos, etc. the media may well be inspiring yet another youthful, interest-yearning, distrubed baby to dedicate a similar act as a manner to get the comparable interest. The sufferers deserve greater interest and the killer merits much less.

yes, this kind of this is probably considered normal in third world countries. american mainstream media makes events such as the VT shootings a very important one because the media is trying to make it seem like its all about America. It's is trying to make other countries to sympathize for us. american media will never give you any or much news on other countries, because its always about us. the media will go crazy with the news coverage whenever events like the VT shootings happen because its like a competition for all the different news stations to get ratings and money.

because people seem to watch. I turn the channel. that is partly what is wrong with this country. the media. people tend to believe all the crap coming from it. the liberal news should be taken as seriously as rosie or the star. wait not the star maybe the world weekly news. now the copy cats are already crawling out of their holes to see if they can get their 15 seconds of fame. sad isn't it.

Well there hadn't been a mass killing in a while, so that is why it continues to get coverage. Besides, crazy people are crazy so they are liable to snap anytime regardless of media coverage.
