Definitely not blame others. BUT with that said, I harbor the suspicion that VT is really a very bitchy culture--as are most universitiies of that size. I am not entirely buying that teacher who threatened to resign if he attended her class as an indication of the general attitude for one reason: he was a senior. When I went to school you could flunk out. Unless that has changed, how do you explain the fact he made it to his senior year unless he was doing acceptable work in the majority of his classes? No answer so far from the media.
Secondly, that first victim's roomate was 'sure' the killer was Thornhill--leading the police on a wild goose chase. I'm getting the picture of a society where everyone has ready blame. And defining themselves as polite Christian culture--even the mass murderer apparently invoked Christianity--makes matters worse. I get the picture of a society of polite fronts. Then when something like this happens, a one-sided explanation.
Look at VT in five years and they'll be on a heroin jag. We shouldn't take what happens there as the rule for all America. More understanding? No. Less hypocrisy.

Well a lot of it is the news media trying to find something more to talk about...so they make it up....and it drives me crazy listening to it.
Right when people have died, and people are grieving we have the wonderful news media trying to start fights....
Cho was a troubled, mentally unstable person that seemed not to be dangerous, but was. Eventually some questions need to be asked to make everyone safer for the next time.
But now is not the time, and because we have 24 hour news, they are scrambling to fill the air time.....and it does get really ridiculous and annoying!
I do think everyone goes too far in the "blame game"...someone has to be at fault, and since Cho is dead, they have to find someone else to zero in on. It's really pretty sad. I just kept turning them off!

the only people that can be blamed (besides Cho) are all of the gun control wackjob liberals. there will always be guns, much like there will always be alcohol and marijuana. but the problem is that the guns are only in the wrong hands. if good guys were armed, somebody couldve stopped Cho. i know i wouldve shot the bastard before he'd taken all those innocent lives.

screw understanding. they need to be put away. but who is going to pay for all these people to be hospitalized/ I know. if the ill legals go back home or are not be allowed to bleed us for free medical, schooling, free lunch programs, hud housing, welfare. etc, then maybe we as a country would have enough money without raising taxes to pay for our own ill americans. also How about guns for americans only. Non Citizens not Allowed.

These statements are made by kindly people who would be glad if somebody tried to calm them when they are angry.
They haven't experienced the fact that some people just don't want help.

most people do, I dont agree with it, but some people cope that way they feel if the government has forums and groups investigating this it Will totally stop it. I guess it somehow comforting to them, even though I doubt it will have any effect if someone else decides to get stupid and do it.

Some are even blaming the gun free zone. If the other students had been armed, they might have stopped him sooner. Ugh! Pretty unbelievable!!

I blame society in general. Society is sick and that was Cho's message. If you don't believe me, just watch the news, listen to music, movies, ect. The news is only showing what people watch and want to watch.
Cho was a victim of society.

I dunno, I mean, nothing is justified for someone to go killing a bunch of innocent people. But maybe it is society. There's so many people putting everyone down for no reason, calling them gay, a fag, ugly, fat, you have to live up to all those expectations, and be perfect, or else you'll be made fun of.
