Remember when Americans were fighting for their freedom instead of fighting to give up their freedoms?

The government scares us into beliving things are bad for us so they can make laws against anything they dont like and so Americans will have less and less freedoms.

Why ignore your rights?

How many of you actually know the bill of rights and stand by it?

Why do people let the government corrupt them into beliving EVERYTHING is bad for us...

Setting laws against certain things does nothing. This has been proven with things such as probition.

Benjamin Franklin said: "Those who would give up essential liberty, to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety." With regard to things like abortion or homosexuality; BEWARE of things done for religious reasons. Remember, it was religious ideology that brought us 9/11. Who's to say that our religious ideology is any better or less violent considering it's long and bloody history! Remember when they accused women of witchcraft for displaying symptoms that we today know to be epilepsy? Sorry, but I'll trust science and medicine every time!!

I have my own theories regarding your questions but it would take a lot of explaining to get my point across so, in a nut shell, "THE PATRIOT ACT" GIVES THE GOVERNMENT FULL REIGN TO DO EXACTLY WHAT THEY WANT TO WITHOUT PROBABLE CAUSE OR INDICMENTS ISSUED FROM JUDGES. THEY CAN AND ARE INVADING OUR PRIVACY, IMPLEMENTING CENSORSHIP, AND, CAN NOT BE HELD LIABLE FOR ANY OF THEIR ACTIONS SHOULD SOMEONE DECIDE TO TAKE THEM TO COURT. WE HAVE NO RIGHTS AT THIS POINT IN TIME. THERE IS NOTHING THAT CAN SAVE US FROM THE COMPLETE CONTROL THAT THE PATRIOT ACT GIVES THE GOVERNMENT. I know that this has all been an ongoing process right under the noses of "WE THE PEOPLE" AND THEN THEY SLIP IN THE PATRIOT ACT, and as far as my understanding gives me, they will not be saying someday in the future, "Ok people, crisis over. we are sorry for any inconvinence we have caused but here goes back the rights we have decieved you out of. I'm scared. Why would I want my rights taken away in the name of 'NATIONAL SECURITY" anyway? Why would I want my rights taken away for any reason for any amount of time. I wouldn't, so it is about time that you bush lovers wake up and take a look at what is really going on. There isn't any reason that a government should demand it's citizens give up their rights especially when that is the sole reason for the birth of America to begin with and all that we stand for and, supposedly, what we are still killing people for in other countries over.

Because most people do not know the Bill of Rights nor do they understand the underlying philosophies of America. The 10th ammendment was thrown out the window by courts taking leisure with the interpretation of the commerce clause, so the Federal government basically has free will to pass whatever laws it pleases.

To the people that voted me down, do you know what the 10th ammendment and the commerce clause say or how they have been interpreted to interact?

I am going to tell you what I tell every other person who insults America and our government. Why do you keep complaining? You have the right to leave anytime you want. You dont like this country, then move. Why waste your time going against your country, when you can simply leave. I happen to know my rights and still have all of them. Speak for yourself.
