The vast majority discount conspiracy theories. The truth of the matter is that there's no way for us to really know what what caused him to freak out. We make assumptions based on what we hear in the media, and let's be honest that's where we get all our information on this incident. We can assume that what we hear is correct and this guy was just some loony wacko. Which could be valid, but there are many other possibilities that are just as valid based on what we know or don't know. He could have been brain washed by some intelligence agency, foreign or domestic, to carry out some sick political agenda. Think that's just totally out of the question? Think again, it's been going on for a long time. It is possible based on what we know. It could be the North Koreans, it could be the liberal anti-gun democrats, it could be a lot of things, it could also be what the media tells us, this guy could just have been one screwed up individual with a vengeance. I honestly don't think we will ever know the truth, we can only make an assumption.

No...why should there be? It is pretty obvious it was one troubled individual.
Some consipiracy theories are pretty ridiculous alright, like some said about 9/11....but I think sometimes we "invite" them by setting up panels which do a poor job of investigating, which leads to questions, which leads to crazy speculation. We all sat there and watched what happened, listened to the tapes while it happened, etc.
The only info we really didn't totally get was how it could have been stopped years before, and wasn't....but there are always people looking for a "cause" that isn't there.
This was a tragedy....probably couldn't have been totally deterred...but questions need to be asked so everyone can be better protected the next time.
For example....would you like your son put in a room with a mentally unstable person? Neither would I, and it shouldn't have happened. He should have been asked to leave when they discovered his mental state.
Also, both at Columbine, and at this school I noticed that students are "trapped" by only one exit from the room. That is one thing that should be changed...there should be another way out of any room.
Also...if the teachers had had a weapon, maybe someone could have fought back and have less people killed.
You obviously can't control all situations, but you can be better prepared for the next one. And "guns" aren't the issue....it could have been worse with a bomb, or a grenade, or who knows what!
There are a lot of unstable people walking around!

First allow me say that their are 15,000 scholars at that certain school, four,000 within the dorm, and eleven,000 who live off campus. Virginia Tech the day gone by had a Press convention on Fox News, and one of the crucial Authorities (there have been three), and I have no idea his name mentioned that they do have a protection method, via electronic mail, and different technical approach. However the time that the incidents happened, used to be within the A.M. while the scholars have been commuting. When they did arrive they felt that it used to be exceptional to fasten down once they did arrive. Truthfully on the time of the inside track convention they have been nonetheless doing the research of the witnesses, and they didn't have the entire solutions but. That mentioned, I think they must have steel detectors as they do on the airports, and I.D. playing cards (ones that can't be counterfeited), as they're planning on doing with Passports within the United States. Secondly while an incident does arise they must have a noisy siren like they do in Israel, and different nations in the course of struggle time alerting humans to enter their shelters. That wll alert those who're commuting. For those that dorm they must have a PA method set up. These are the one measures that I can believe of, apart from strickter gun manage legislation. Truth to inform, it's unlucky however anything measures are set up it sort of feels that once a deranged man or woman, or a terrotist is observed to damage humans lamentably they continuously discover a method to paintings round any protection method that's set up. It is sort of a no win trouble, however we need to do what we need to do it doesn't matter what. G-d must support the ones households, to be competent to triumph over the tragedy of wasting a chlld.

Of course there will be. Now that it is known that the shooter's sister works as a contract employee for the state dept., there will be all sorts of wacky theories connecting the Bush administration with the Virginia Tech massacre.

CIA hired him so Bush could have an excuse to attack North Korea, steal the oil and give Halliburton more money.
