England football. Shearer was captain in Euro 2000, he then quit, I think that tournament finished before July. I am not sure there was an official choice, the next real captain was David Beckham but that wasnt for another few months. It could have been Martin Keown, Gary Neville, Sol Campbell or David Seaman.

I used to know who captained the tiddlywinks team, but I forgot.

Whoever it was captained a losing team, so it doesn't matter.

Depends on the SPORT, my friend! In FOOTBALL, I MAY have my ideas WRONG, - I ADMIT that, - but, I believe that it was at AROUND this time, that DAVID BECKHAM took the ARMBAND, - whilst in CRICKET, - it was NASSER HUSSAIN, who had the honour of leading the team onto the field of play!
