I have to disagree with that statement for sheer fact that if he was anything remotely close to attention seeking, then he would not have committed suicide. He would have remained alive so that he could reap the attention of his actions. Also whiney? umm if you have read any of the news reports or anything that the professionals have been saying, he was a loner. He did not speak to anyone let alone share his thoughts with anyone. His roomates even stated that all he would say to them is Hi. He was not much of a talker regardless therefore he was not whiney.

I agree. He also had serious psychological problems that helped him to maliciously harm classmates, without empathizing for them.

The problems stemmed from earlier on.
Consider the testimony of his roommates:

1. He had an invisible supermodel girlfriend who called him "spanky"

2. He never talked or associated with other people

3. His poetry and plays were laced with extreme violence and abuse of/from authority figures (parents/instructors)

4. He impersonated others and stalked three different women

5. He threatened to kill himself and was placed under observation where he was found to have severe psychological problems and a risk to others.

6. He looked one woman in the eye and claimed he saw "promiscuity"

7. He played the same song for hours on end and scribbled the lyrics onto the shared dorm wall.

How many red flags did this university need?

That sort of statement is what causes these people to go over the edge in the first place. If kids would treat each other with respect, things like this might be prevented. But, no. You have to go around making fun of people who aren't like you are; calling them names and antagonizing them to no end. For the love of God, when are people going to start understanding that helping someone who is different from you is the only way to help stop this terrorism! And, believe you me, this is terrorism in its worst form!
