I do. I would think it would be the least they could do. And if any of these students had loans, those funds should be absorbed by the loan agencies. It is sad enough that these folks have lost their family members, but to face putting more money out for this "education" is a travesty. Thoughts?

believe me the school will return all fees and then some and the student loans will also be no more the kids were murdered on school property when the dust settles from all of this there will be more lawsuits than you would ever imagine both from the families of the deceased and all the kids that were injured and probably many of the witnesses for mental anguish in civil court it wont be hard to prove that the school could have done more to protect them even by locking the school down after the first shootings he wouldnt have been able to leave his dorm or gain entry to the other building

Maybe the difference of the tuition that they would've had to pay from the time of their death until the end of the semester, but the money can't be returned if it was already used for previous education. And loan services either send the debt to near relatives or forgive them.

That would be the right thing to do. However, I can't imagine a parent whose child was slain is thinking " Damn, there goes all that tuition money! " Some loans do get voided if something like this happens.

I think the parents could care less about 30-40,000, when their child's life has been lost. One can reearn, over just save up 30-40,000 over a period of time, but lost lives are not returned.

It would be a nice gesture, but I wouldn't fault them for keeping the money for the classes they've already taken. VT is going to need all it can get, I'm sure they're anticipating a bunch of lawsuits.
