It has always been this way. You have the left, you have the right and the ones in the middle who get dragged kicking and screaming one way or the other. Why? Because the middle does not stand for anything. If you don't stand for something you will fall for anything.

What is the moderate position on abortion? Um, maybe only allow a limited number per year? What is the moderate position on the death penalty? Only sort of kill them? What is the moderate position on the War on terror? On Iraq? On gun control? On anything?

I am a conservative. I have many core values and defend them with my life. Liberals have their own beliefs and even though I don't agree with them and fight them every inch of the way to prevent them from prevailing, I still respect them for taking a position. But moderates? How do you respect someone who waits to see which way popular opinion is going before taking a position?

Not only that, but the conservatives are visciously attacking any liberal that moves while the liberals are attacking each other. Their behaviour is so disgusting that you don't know who to vote against.

A fiscal conservative with socially progressive attitudes, is a red to the republicans and a nazi to the democrats. The voters told the GOP that they had enough of the partisan crap in 2006, but nobody seems to be listening.

There is a middle ground. Shave off the lunatics on both sides of the isle and you will have a majority of the American public that will vote as moderate Republicans.

You have forgotten the Moderates. And also, the Split Party Ticket Voters.

Election time heats it up a bit, doesn't it? It's too bad that sometimes the more polarized allow mudslinging and their anger to overshadow the issues. It's not uncommon on Y!A for both sides to attack the middle. But that doesn't have to stop us from continuing to discuss the issues.

whilst i seem at answering a query, I continually learn the theory. Is freedom from concern sturdy? Is it functional? Is it healthful? No, no and no. concern is a huge motivator. It protects us from injury. It leads on the path far off from discomfort. #a million "Conservatives benefit freedom from concern by using the life of a good authority," Conservatives have self belief NO such element. No authentic conservative needs larger government. As Ronald Reagan placed it. - "government isn't the answer. that's oftentimes the difficulty," The good authority is a Christian (loving and forgiving) God in my opinion. a good militia can help shrink concern. If used authentic, it protects us from tyrants and promotes freedom for the inhabitants to strengthen and prosper. even although, a Godless (evil, hating and unforgiving) militia, does in basic terms the choice. the suitable for a real conservative is a robust morally uncorrupt militia and as small a central authority as obtainable. Liberals do no longer choose a good government contained in the variety of a militia. they choose a good government contained in the variety of social courses and taxation of the wealthy. As i discussed earlier, they suspect the lie that taxation can help the unfavorable. even although, once you tax the wealthy, the wealthy don't get poorer. They make their workers wotk harder for much less. They make their purchasers pay extra for much less. They make their shareholders earn much less on investments. in short, extra unfavorable absolutely everyone seems to be created. the consumer-friendly guy will become a slave to taxation. Liberals think of it is in basic terms positive ie We make absolutely everyone equivalent Conservatives see this as slavery. liberals do no longer recommendations slavery as long as absolutely everyone seems to be equivalent Conservatives do no longer recommendations inequality, as long as they have freedom.

Actually most are middle ground, but have strong feelings about individual issues. Sadly, the politicos think most of us are apathetic and we can be swayed by their presentations.
