Dan Quayle "hated" Murphy Brown, who was played by Candice Bergen, the daughter of famous ventriloquist Edgar Bergen (Charlie McCarthy and Mortimer Snerd). The guy that painted her home in "Murphy Brown" was Eldin Bernecky, played by Robert Pastorelli, may he rest in peace. Pastorelli died of a heroin overdose a few years ago.
