It was for SEVERAL years. I have always been told that I am the care giver of the family.

But as I have gotten older and stronger, I have now learned to say NO when the situation warrants it.

Like with my grown kids, they use to be able to get whatever they wanted out of me, but now it isn't as easy to do.
And boy they hate it................LOL

Now with my parents and my grandchildren, that is a different story. They can still wrap me around their finger and get me to give or do anything for them.

I know the difference between empowerment and enabling, and I find it very easy to say "no" to enabling.
