First off, you have to admit that we are a stressed nation, and depression has been among us for the longest we can remember. And if we are going to so call, "isolate depressed, stressed person", might as well live in a panopticon because we are allllll stressed. I don't know how much more I can truly emphasize that.

No, just because of this incident people are not going to just out of the blue start hating Asian men. I am a Asian American, and I'm sorry that this happened, but I'm not going to change my preference towards Asian American men for the hell of it.

Thanks a lot of for being ignorant during a time when people are suffering from the losses. :)

No, it might make people take a closer look to the surrounding but the should be doing that anyway because of the world we live in. Its not just the VT tragedy look around to all the crime. We just need to move aware of what we are doing and step up like the student at VT did and protect those we can

I honeslty think for a while they may experience some hatred, but in time is will dissapear. I mean, there are so many people in middle, high school, and even college that are considered "isolated" and "lonely" and "weird" but it doesnt mean that every student that is like that is going to bring a 22 and a 9 mm to school and kill 32 people. I think that those people are still going to be ignored, and just brushed off of the shoulder, and in a way thats sad because some of them may need help, but others just may like keeping to themselves

The tragedy is compounded by the elimination of some of the best minds in resolving today’s problems. However it should serve as a wake-up to the necessity for understanding culture.

This young man came to America when he was in the formative years of seeking a role model. His father was a good man and gave his all in performance of his business. However to an eight-year old it may have appeared as being submissive to a higher economy.

At the same time he was exposed to the product of a permissive society that exercised individual worth and freedoms. Surely that would have created questions in his young mind that people could not understand not having been there.

The early pictures of him show eyes that are definitely awake. Yet one of his teachers or councilors said she saw or thought there were tears behind the Sunglasses.

We are in a new world requiring cultural understanding. I was married to a woman of different culture for twelve years before I realized what cultural difference was and it came about through business activities not my day-to-day interaction with the woman I loved.

The world is Global now and we have to recognize cultural is more than different language and dress.

Open-minded, educated people will not typecast Asians simply because the shooter was Asian. Of course, there will always be those narrow-minded racists who will hold prejudices against Asians because of this incident. It's sad that race has become such an issue in this case. If the shooter were white, white people would not be fearing this type of racial prejudice.

Are you suggesting the nation live in fear of the odd man out?

Cho isolated himself, society didn't!

Don't even THINK about giving Cho any excuses for his actions.

People are going to discrimnate against other cultures because of what one person does, history always tend to repeat. Not everybody who is that race is crazy or psyco it's just one individual. I won't hold against that entire race.
